Hey everyone, I know the BCIT January 2019 admission deadline is still a ways to go but I just wanted to know how many people are planning to apply, and also exchange some advice and questions with each other.
First off, I'd like to show you what I am applying with:
Highschool reqs
Precalc 12 - 99
CHEM 11 - 86
UNI reqs (UBC)
ENG112 - 74 (B)
PSYC101 - 72 (B)
CPSC - 86 (A)
STAT - 82 (A-)
A&P1 - TBD
A&P2 - TBD
I'm taking A&P in the Summer
experiences
- senior home (occupational therapy) volunteer
- first aid volunteer
- pharmacy assistant volunteer
Here are my questions:
Does BCIT determine your GPA based on your own university's grading scale? Or their own? And also, I'm not too sure about how to calculate GPA, since there are so many different scales online. Can anyone provide an accurate estimate of my GPA?
Does number of hours you've volunteered matter? Or do they consider it by months? Because I don't see a box where you input how many hours in the form.
How strong does my application look so far, and any advice?
@ao123 I think the waitlist will first fill up the Jan seats (if they become available) and then once the deadline passes they will move over to April. There will either be seats available for the April intake or if it's full, they are waitlisted for April instead.
Were you waitlisted in the top 15 for the January intake?
Hi everyone,I've been silently observing this page, with nothing really to say.
Check your emails; i got waitlisted, not top 15, but better than nothing. It also says we'll be considered for the April intake if we don't get into the Jan intake. Does anyone have any guesses when that will be?
It said you could be considered for April? I got the top 15 email and it didnt say that lol
