Seeing as it's almost time for the start of the August 2014 intake applications, I figured it apt to start this thread now.
This will be my second time applying (applied previously for august 2013).
Currently working on finish my second A&P course and will be finishing my undergraduate degree next semester!
Let the waiting begin~ :)
Hi everyone,
I have a question around submitting transcripts...do you just order an official transcript to your house and then upload a PDF version or does BCIT want the transcripts sent to them by the institution. For all of my other applications to different schools, I've been asked to have the transcripts mailed directly from the issuing school to the school I'm applying for.
I don't see any address on the BCIT information page but just wanted to check on this forum as well to reassure myself!
Many thanks and best of luck to everyone with their respective apps!
So far, I'm only going to apply for BCIT. I missed the deadline for UBC. But I'm going to be doing one of the LIBS courses online this summer. @lnguyen, how are the LIBS courses for you? How's the course load of taking both at the same time? I'm still contemplating whehter I should just take both this summer and get them over with.
Hey diandriod. Yea I've also missed the ubcdeadline too. I'm taking them in class. Ive heard that online requires a lot of reading. I'm enjoying it so far! I'm not usually good with artsy or writing classes. But I'm taking libs 7001 with ashton howly and he's makes the class really easy and enjoyable. The ethics class we can take health ethics instead which would probably be easier for us who want to get into this program. But the class was full so I couldnt enroll in it.
I've applied to UBC, U of T, and Western in addition to BCIT...really hoping to get into one of the four! Not too sure of my chances for Western though, as they only look at grades - no supplemental whatsoever!
Too bad the BCIT health ethics sections are full - I might look into transferrable health ethics classes to take over the summer.
Actually never mind. I found it: LIBS 7021 - Health Ethics. I don't think we can take it anyways even if all the seats were full. It says you can only register if you're already a nursing student. I'm going to ask them about whether we can transfer any health ethics courses for LIBS 7002. I already took a science and health ethics at UBC so hopefully they let that transfer. But I was under the impression that there were no equivalents for the LIBS 7001 and 7002.
Yeah they seem to be really picky about transferring the LIBS courses. I've already taken a health ethics class as well as a few academic writing and critical reading classes and they wouldn't accept any of them as replacements for LIBS. I'm taking 7002 online right now and it's pretty straightforward... There's usually a chapter or 2 to read every week as well as some lecture videos to watch. Then you have to submit a reply to a discussion question every Monday. It's not too demanding but a lot of it is booooring
