Baylor Hospital

U.S.A. Texas

I was just wondering how the interview process went at Baylor. I applied for a few of the GN positions and went to the career fair this past weekend (10/11/08), but haven't heard anything back. I know it has only been a few days since, but I am nervous! Has anyone had contact within the past couple days? I might be over analyzing the situation, I tend to do that, but any information from anyone else is appreciated!

Thanks!

That is great that you already have experience! What hospital are you working at? This is my first job out of nursing school and I am really excited. I actually changed careers into nursing because I wanted to be a L&D nurse. I am a labor doula, a childbirth educator, and a La Leche League leader. I kept doing just a little bit more and it really snowballed into going back to school to be a nurse! I know that JPS will have tons of amazing opportunities for learning.

I wanted to say Hi. I am also a Labor Doula and Lamaze Childbirth Educator. I am currently in my first semester at El Centro College for Nursing. I am pretty excited. I am wanting to be a L&D Nurse. I currently teach classes at Baylor, and I would really love to work as a Nurse there.

Hi Billie! Baylor really is a great hospital system. Their benefits are pretty good and because they are a nonprofit, you would still be eligible for the NELRP. I was hoping for a job at Baylor All Saints or JPS, but as All Saints wasn't hiring because they have too many newbie nurses I have ended up at JPS! I actually think that this is the best place for me as I will get lots of experiences that I probably wouldn't be able to get elsewhere. I would like to be a midwife one day, so the more births that I attend the better of a midwife I will be one day.

Which El Centro are you going through? The one based out of Methodist?

Specializes in trauma ICU,TNCC, NRP, PALS, ACLS.

What is JPS? I have never heard of that hospital. Also I have heard that baylor pay is extremely low compared to other hospitals in the area.

Specializes in L&D, OB Triage.

JPS is John Peter Smith, a county hospital in Fort Worth. And I hear Baylor, at least the new Andrew's Womens Center starts at 19.50 for new grads...

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

At least in the Dallas area, Baylor starts new grads at $21. A few other hospitals start at $21, too. But, the range at different hospitals is $21 to just under $25 depending on the hospital.

Specializes in NICU, Pediatric Urgent Care.

I hate seeing this thread dead lol. I'm about to apply for a position in their NICU doing the TDA rotation.
