I was just wondering how the interview process went at Baylor. I applied for a few of the GN positions and went to the career fair this past weekend (10/11/08), but haven't heard anything back. I know it has only been a few days since, but I am nervous! Has anyone had contact within the past couple days? I might be over analyzing the situation, I tend to do that, but any information from anyone else is appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi Michigan! I am now living in Louisville, finishing school in Dec. and also applied for a Baylor GN internship. I lived in Dallas for 23 years, and want to move back after school. A few weeks ago, I spoke with a recruiter who told me about the job fair on the 11th, but of course, with school and all, I couldn't go and would love if you could tell me about it. It sounded like it would be a great way to meet the managers. At least that is what the recruiter told me. Anyway, I sent my application in over the weekend by email and got an auto response. I figure I will give it about a week and then I might call the person that I had originally spoke with if I havent heard anything by then. So how was the fair???
It was interesting that is for sure. A little nerve racking, there was about 200 people there! (Or that was what I was told at least) It was very informative and they arranged for me to go to the hospital and tour the units which was nice. The hiring managers were there, but I felt as if they asked the same questions as my phone interview. I don't live in Texas until December so my initial interview was over the phone. I was interested in any critical care unit so those tables were my main focus. What positions did you apply for?
I applied for critical care also and for OR, which I hear has a nine month internship! I am glad though, because I don't have any experience working in a hospital and the more training I can get, the better. Are you moving to Dallas whether you get a job or not? I cannot wait to move back. I miss my friends. I guess we graduate at the same time.
Yes I will be moving to Texas either way, I am hoping to find a job prior to moving down though. You sound very excited to be moving back to the Dallas area.
We both are graduating in December, so hopefully things will work out for both of us. Who knows we could end up working together in the ICU! :)
Hi Again! That sounds great, let me know if and when you hear something, and I will do the same. Did you apply at any other hospitals?

I was at that job fair this weekend, but I only went to the L&D table. I had already had a phone interview with the recruiter. I heard back from the recruiter today and she said that the NM would be giving me a call to set up another interview at the facility.
It was a really crazy job fair! Lots of people. Michigan to TX did you apply anywhere else? or just Baylor?
I also had my phone interview prior to the career fair, went to the ICU tables at the career fair (which I felt they asked the same questions I was asked on the phone interview), and they arranged for me to go right over to the hospital to tour the units. I also applied at Parkland, but I would just like to hear back from Baylor...I guess you could say I am impatient!! :)

Hey Michigan to Texas,
I, too, applied to several GN positions and actually came from out of town to attend the career fair at Baylor. I haven't heard anything yet either. There were soooo many people there. Two of the people that interviewed me were a little stand off-ish and I knew I didnt have a chance the minute I sat down. The third person was very pleasant but that was in a high demand area, so we'll see how that goes...
I came from out of town as well and I am surprised we haven't heard anything yet. I thought everyone was nice and welcoming, and they made arrangements for me to go tour the units that day. I thought it sounded promising, but still haven't heard anything.
Where are you from?

I've applied to Parkland as well, and I have heard good things about both Baylor and Parkland so I am interested in both. What about you?

Well, I interviewed at both Parkland and Baylor for L&D. I was actually offered a job at Parkland this week, but I turned it down. I am in the process of interviewing at JPS and I would rather work there plus I just got an offer at a private hospital and they are waiting for a response until next week. Baylor interview process seems to be taking longer, so I am thinking now that I won't end up working there!
