Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! How are you all faring?
Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.
For all the people the are accepted or already in the program, I was wondering if you can send more than one GRE score? My buddy in the program said they usually want a math score of 150. I got a 151 the first time I took it but my overall score was under 300. The second time I took it my overall score was 300 but my math score was only 149 .
anyone with any information on there ane 695 course, for people accepted into crna school, to help them prepare?
You can take this before or after you are accepted into the Barry program (or any other program for that matter). This is not a required course but rather a refresher course of sorts. During the interview they said some people were having trouble with the sciences so they developed this as a focused refresher. Also if you need a recent chemistry Barry does count this as part of their chemistry requirements. Personally I think the course would be great but $2,970.00....
There's more information here Prepare Yourself for Nurse Anesthesia Education : About the Program : Anesthesiology (MS) : College of Nursing and Health Sciences : Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida
FYI, Barry is very heavy in the sciences and hands on experience (Master's of Science in Anesthesiology vs most Masters of Nursing). There is essentially no nursing theory, etc courses. I'm not saying it's good or bad, it's just something to be aware of.
According to both the Barry website and the "Council on Accreditation" Barry grads average between 3,000-3,500 hrs of hands on working. If you're interested how many cases/hrs most schools average you can easily look it up here. CRNA School Search I assume this are fairly up to date.
I interviewed yesterday. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The assessment quiz was 20 questions about 10 critical care/CCRN type and 10 science/chemistry. Again, they said the quiz is not used for deciding your admission but as an assessment tool that way they now where you are when simulation lab starts.
I didn't have any clinical questions in my interview, but I'm just one person.

Hey @nurseflip26,
thanks for the tip! Do you mind sharing your stats? When did you submit your application? And how long did you have to wait until you heard back for an interview? Hope your interview went well, and keep us posted! Good Luck!
About 2 years of ICU experience. GPA overall around 3.6, 4.0 in sciences. CCRN plus the usual ACLS, PALS, etc. GRE was strong, around a 320 or so combined
My application got sent to the committee for review around mid-March then I got invited about 2 weeks later and interviewed about 2 weeks after the invite.
