Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Published

Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! :o How are you all faring?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.

Hello all, I'm currently in the process of applying for 2018 admission. What are your thoughts on the ANE 695: Transition in Anesthesiology course? I know it's quite pricey but do you find it well worth it?

Well worth it. They will probably want you to take it anyways even if you don't need it. They wanted everyone to take it. If it means the difference of getting in or not I suggest taking it.

Hi guys,

For those of you starting in 2017 - if you'd like materials to prepare for Barry's program, please let me know! Wishing you all great success with the next year despite the challenges that await. The first year is definitely the most challenging one, with south florida and orlando being the most difficult clinical sites after speaking with all of our classmates. Orlando Regional Medical Center and Broward General in South florida are the most difficult to start in clinically - it will be very demanding! But when you get through it if you're placed there, you will be more than prepared for the other sites and do very well. Just know this going in, because a lot of students either failed out or quit because it is so stressful - and this is only for the short term. The long term, anesthesia can be what you make of it and you can work in as stressful an environment as you want. But your training will be more stressful (as expected) and you must stay positive and realize that this is all a sacrifice for your goal in becoming a CRNA. let me know who's interested

Hello! Thanks for the words of wisdom! Do you recommend the use of study guides to help during the program? If so any specific ones? PM if it is easier. Thanks!

Specializes in OR, ICU.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I would like to take you up on the offer of prep material.

How far along in the program are you? Which site were you assigned to?

Very interested. I think all materials will help :) Thank you for all of your advice.

Has any current or past student taken the ANE 695: Transition in Anethesioogy course?

I'm still debating whether or not to take it in the spring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hello all current/former Barry students!! I'm looking to get some advice about what to expect in the program as far as clinical sites, any tips on how to survive your first semester/year at Barry. Why students chose one clinical site over another. How i can prepare myself for the program before the start of the program in January of next year. Please help! PM if you can ,thanks!!
