  1. Congrats to those who got it in! And to those who didn't or are wait-listed don't get discouraged. I was wait listed last year and now I'm in this time!! Has anyone made a facebook group for class of 2021 or know how to? Would be nice to start getting to know our classmates. I am coming from out of state and am looking for recommendations for housing.
  2. Hello all! Can anyone tell me how many were interviewed and how many were accepted for this program? I'm looking to apply this cycle. Thanks!
  3. Hello all current/former Barry students!! I'm looking to get some advice about what to expect in the program as far as clinical sites, any tips on how to survive your first semester/year at Barry. Why students chose one clinical site over another. How i can prepare myself for the program before the start of the program in January of next year. Please help! PM if you can ,thanks!!
  4. I have a friend who started CRNA school and had a chunk of debt when he started the program already. He took out a large loan and rented an apartmentt that was expensive, had a high car note. Honestly he was not prepared to start CRNA and made poor decisions going into it. Turns out he was so stresssed out dealing with the financial aspect of school that he failed out within his first year of school and now has even more debt. CRNA is not for those who aren't financially prepared.
  5. Thanks kbl7td, I'm assuming you've taken all the head start courses already? How manageable is it to take the two head start classes in the fall (chem/physics and the other fluff course) while working a full time job? Any insight on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Although an overall gpa of >3.3 may be good enough to get you a interview, a lot of programs look at your science GPA when it comes to choosing one candidate over another. To have a solid application I would recommend taking a graduate level science course or two, even if it puts you another year back from applying. This is coming from personal experience. Good luck!
  7. I wouldn't go as far as wear a suit, they might think you are trying too hard. Of course I would wear something professional, business meeting style. This is a great idea, wish I would have done this. Good luck!
  8. Most programs want either a general chemistry or even better organic chemistry. Some programs require the lab component, whereas others don't. I'm pretty sure any introduction or fundamental course does not meet the requirements for a CRNA program. But why not take the fundamental course and right after take organic chemistry. You can always email the school of choice to verify. The course can only help you in the end! Good luck
  9. I received a confirmation email last week that my application is complete. The waiting game begins. What site are you guys going for? I'm thinking Orlando.
  10. Has any current or past student taken the ANE 695: Transition in Anethesioogy course? I'm still debating whether or not to take it in the spring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  11. I'm most likely going for the Orlando site, I'm from out of state so I'm game for any location really. My stats are 3.6, CCRN-CMC 2 years CVICU and 2 years in surgial trauma icu. Currently taking the gre this week. Everything else is complete. Good luck to all! Is anyone else from out of state?
  12. Is anyone else waitlisted? I wonder how soon we will hear something?
  13. Hello all, I'm currently in the process of applying for 2018 admission. What are your thoughts on the ANE 695: Transition in Anesthesiology course? I know it's quite pricey but do you find it well worth it?
  14. I'm currently applying as well ! Good luck!
  15. I too have not heard back. For those already accepted can you tell me what your admission status says on your student portal? Mine has a green dot that says complete. I'm hoping to hear something back soon!
