Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! How are you all faring?
Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.
Regarding the clinical sites, all sites will give you experience but the Orlando site probably gives the best experience (it's the hardest as well) because we get so much OB experience. Also, if you're in Orlando, you're Sim lab is right there. Clinical sites are close by as well. I can't really speak for the other sites. I know that if you're in Tampa, you have to drive to Orlando on simulation days (2 hour drive). Let me know if I can help with anything else.
How often do you have these simulation days? On one hand the Sim days seem like they would be very helpful but that's a lot of extra driving from Tampa.
Also could you give us a better idea how the teaching is done. My understanding is that some of the classes are taught via a live stream by a teacher at another location?
so my friend in the program said that the director was at the Orlando campus the other day and told them to tell those interested in CRNA that there are a lot of spots open and "NOW is the time to apply to try to get in." I hope that's true! And I hope not many more people apply, so it boosts our chances for admission
hmm...that status sounds familiar. I think you and I know the same people. lol actually my buddy in the program sent me a screenshot of his classmate's facebook status and I'm pretty sure it's the same person you're talking about.

Hey. I was a Med Surg/Rehab nurse for 2 years and then a CVICU nurse for 2 years. I had my CCRN, ACLS, PALS, BLS. I had a 3.5 GPA with a 298 on my GREs( I sucked at the GREs). I had a 150 on verbal and 148 math and 4.5 writing. I applied in April and was interviewed in July and they do tell you within 1-2 weeks. I was not able to take the research class because I got accepted in July and the class starts in the summer (May). However, I did take the Principles of Anesthesia and Chem class.

You have sim lab a few times in the semester (4-5 times) . Regarding the teaching, the professor is at one of the campuses where they do a live lecture. We view the lecture on a screen in a building that they rent out (it's not bad at all). You do have the professors at Tampa and Hollywood and then OB is taught in Orlando. Don't choose a site because you want to see the professor live. It does not matter at all. The experience is more important.

thanks @jbrar111 that's very helpful!
Okay so my GRE scores are very similar to yours, 148 Verbal, 150 Quant, and 4.0 writing. I hope everything I have will be enough to get in, still trying to figure out if I should retake it to boost my chances if I could even improve them.
I just finished taking a PALS course this morning and sent my certification today, so I think my file is complete now.
Good Luck wm1234!!! Keep us posted!

To those who were granted interviews, did you sign up for a webinar, and if so, did you find it helpful?
