Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! How are you all faring?
Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.
@ cariac_ERv Were you told that they are doing another round of interviews on the 21st?
According to previous posts they interview way past May.
so people here have been saying there's another session on the 15th. I doubt both of us will make that one (I submitted my application end of march). There should be another one on the 21st. and since deadline is May 1st, I would assume there would be more after that.
My buddy who's in the program right now told me there's an info session on the 21st and said it's an interview session also. But now that I think about it that might not be entirely accurate. Last time I spoke to admissions the lady said they conduct interviews every other week. Since last interview was on the 1st and next on the 15th, based on that trend I would assume the next one would be on the 29th? Either way I'm anxiously waiting for a response.
I feel you! My phone isn't leaving my side haha I wonder how many students they interview at a time? Or how many more rounds of interviews left. Seems like most of the spots would be taken already. Good luck to you!

so my friend in the program said that the director was at the Orlando campus the other day and told them to tell those interested in CRNA that there are a lot of spots open and "NOW is the time to apply to try to get in." I hope that's true! And I hope not many more people apply, so it boosts our chances for admission
What I do want to know is what is the best way to prepare for the rigorous demands of the first semester? Should I take a patho class, chem refresher? Seems like I would be going from 0 to 100 overnight. Also as far as clinical sites, in your opinion and what you've heard, what sites would allow for the greatest learning potential in regards of skills. Miami vs. Orlando as I am willing to attend any location really. Interview tips? If I'm granted one of course. :) Thanks for the help!!!
Hey peeps,Good luck to everyone who has applied. I'm currently a student for the class of 2018. I'm in Orlando, currently. Let me know if ya'll have any questions.
Hey! Great questions. I don't think you need to really take a patho class but refreshing up on some Chemistry would be nice. If you already have your Chem pre-req, I think you will be fine. I highly highly highly recommend doing the head start program because that will let you knock out three classes (Research, Chem/Principles of anesthesia). Chem is probably the hardest class in the program and your semester will be so much easier with you already have taken that. My first semester isn't bad. I have had a lot of time to myself, so far. Next semester will be much different with clinicals.
Regarding the clinical sites, all sites will give you experience but the Orlando site probably gives the best experience (it's the hardest as well) because we get so much OB experience. Also, if you're in Orlando, you're Sim lab is right there. Clinical sites are close by as well. I can't really speak for the other sites. I know that if you're in Tampa, you have to drive to Orlando on simulation days (2 hour drive). Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Hey jbrar111,
I live in Orlando as well and just applied to the program two weeks ago. Do you mind sharing your GRE scores and credentials? I am contemplating re-taking the GRE again bc they're a little weak, but I'm wondering if they'll still think my scores are adequate. When did you apply? And how long did it take to hear back for an interview?
Are you able to take all three of the offered head start classes in the fall before the program starts?
