Banner Nurse Fellows Program

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

For all those GWCC March waiters... I am doing Mesa CC for March and we were emailed our packett this past Friday (I believe) so watch your email in box. They are asking for copies of your CPR, Fingerprint Clearance card, Health Statement from your DR, and Copies of your immunizations. The packet will also have your class schedule (but I was able to successfully predict it by looking at the late start spring schedule for MCC) and the uniform ordering info. The college doesn't automatically register you in the classes. We have to take all our documentation down to the nursing dept and they will then register for your classes at that time. Hope that helps!!

This may be a stupid question for I am new to the healthcare realm; Do we have to have all our shots completed prior to registering for classes? I know the Hep B are given in a series.....

Congratulations to everyone starting the March 2009 cohort. I applied for the July GWCC cohort but receieved a call yesterday asking if I would be interested in the March session, of course I said yes. SO, my interview is next Wed 2/11.......any last minute tips? I am worried because I do not have any hands on healthcare experience. Do they ask questions about this......will it hurt me? Thanks in advance for the advice! :)

Kris1082,

You should just use your personal experiences at work, even if it's not in the healthcare field. They will ask you questions about your leadership skills, experiences helping others, if you are ready for a program as intense as this one. Also they will ask you to tell them a little about yourself. Don't forget that you will be interviewed by a panel of 3 people. I hope it helps!!!

Hello, i am pretty new to this website but i have been reading it ever since i was called for an interview for banner. i will be in the march 09 mesa cohort and i am super excited! I got my packet last week and i have been trying to get a lot of the stuff together so i can finally register for classes!! does anyone know anything about block 1? i got the schedule in the packet but it looks like there is only one class listed. i dont know if we can mention names here but i would like to know about the instructors as well? just in general. Thank you :)

Congrats on your acceptance! All the info I have for Block 1 is what they sent to us on Friday. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the instructors, but I'm sure they will be great. MCC has a great rep! I think some of us that are entering the MCC cohort are trying to schedule a meeting for this Tuesday, so we will post the info once we figure out a time. I don't know where you are located but we will probably try to meet somewhere by MCC.

Re:Registration

I got my admission packet in the mail today. I was unclear if the advisors register us automaticaly or if we make an appointment with them and then they register us. Does anybody know how this works? My student loans are in re-payment this month. I need to get registered asap to show that I am full-time status to avoid paying them. Any info would greatly help :)
