Banner Nurse Fellows Program

I haven't received my Admissions packet and I called MCC shortly before X-mas, they stated that they had not received the information yet from Banner. They also informed me that things would probably post and be updated sometime after Jan 1st. I was getting worried so I have a call in to Banner, but have yet to hear back from them.

I have been "stalking" this Thread for a while now...Finally decided it is time to join!

I applied for the March 09 Gateway Cohort on the deadline, October 17th. I waited and waited for an interview, and was finally called on December 2nd to set up my appointment. I interviewed on December 11th. I was so stressed out for the interview. Since this was the "second round" of interviews I didn't know what chance I had compared to how many spots were left. The panel was very nice, and I felt like everything went well. On December 19th I checked the mail...and there was a huge packet from Banner! Inside was my acceptance letter for the March Cohort at Gateway. :yeah: I couldn't believe it!!!

On the letter I received from Banner Center for Health Careers it stated that our orientation is on March 23rd. Is that what everyone else has? I am still waiting for my packet from Gateway, and my status has not been updated on the Maricopa website.

I am excited to meet the other March GWCC students who are on here (badr and lopezcc23...these are the ones I've seen so far).

Congrats to those who made it! And my regrets to those who didn't. Don't give up...apply again! It can be done!

Hi Carly55 I am looking forward to meeting you and lopezcc23 as well.:nuke: I haven't received my packet nor do I show as placed on the mcc website... just patiently waiting. Can't wait to start!! Anybody from March Gateway cohort want to get together for "coffee" (I don't drink it but love the smell) sometime before the cohort starts?? I know its early, but ....

Hmm, I got into the March 2009 Cohort at MCC and our letters said orientation is on March 11th. I know that MCC's Spring late start classes start on 3/23, so I am guessing thats when we start classes, but I can't wait to get that darned packett!

I was also accepted to the Spring 09 cohort at MCC! I'm so excited! But, I also have not recieved anything from MCC yet and my status has not changed on the website. Does anyone know how many credits per semester the program will be? I need to be going full-time(12 credits) to keep my medical insurance and I heard from someone that they just changed the regular program to less than 12, but I don't know if that is different for us because we will be in an accelerated program.

I called fin aide at MCC shortly after I was accepted. They said that even though we are accelerated, we still have to maintain 12 credits in each of the traditional fall/spring semesters. I know that block one NUR 151 is 10 credits. I have a friend who just finished block one at SCC and she said that their packet addressed this issue, and they had the option of taking a few other classes. A nursing review class NUR ?? AA and AB (.5 credit each) and a nursing math class that was 1 credit. She said they were all super easy classes, and that the math only met in class once, and the rest was online. I'm tellin ya, we need that darned packet!!

wonder if gateway has a lifetime fitness gym thats 1 or 2 credits? as if we'll have time !?! lol

I was wondering that about MCC... I need 2 more credits to hit 12 for fin. aide. I wonder if it would count... Anyone know??

yep mcc has lifetime fitness and it counts :yeah:

Gateway has Lifetime Fitness that's held at YMCA and it's 2 credits. You can take it for a grade or P/F. If you take it for a pass/fail you have to go the minimum that is required. I took it for a grade in the past and it was pretty easy.
