Banner Nurse Fellows Program

Published

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

i've been delaying applying for the program until this year and had planned to go through cgcc but i see that's been eliminated, bummer. my next option is mesa, october if they have it. i will go to the info session this month, but can anyone tell me in advance what cohorts mesa admits - do they do all 3 groups each year? i've done all of my prereqs - even the ones they used to require but no longer do (like nutrition, hsa 130 and terminology)! i'm eager to get going on this!

also, btw, i tried the light rail system this weekend and there's a stop at gateway cc. it runs every 10 minutes. maybe this will help someone (like me?) who wasn't looking forward to a commute.

For everyone waiting for the admissions packet for March cohorts...I got my Letter of Intent emailed to me today:D, so hopefully that means we are going to be admitted to our cohort college and receive our admissions packet soon? One can only hope...

Maybe when the letter of intent is received, our status will change. Anyone else get their email today?

Yep, I got the email today and my status changed. Yea!!!!!!!! Does anybody know of any decent public or charter schools (K-8)? I'm moving from Ahwatukee to the Arcadia/Biltmore area so I can be closer to Gateway CC. I checked out a couple of the public schools within a 5 mile radius of Gateway. I refuse to send my kids to the Creighton School District. I want to find a reputable school for my kids first and then choose a place to live. Any suggestions? Im stressed out about this........ :( Thanks

I got my letter too, yeah!! I plan to fax it tomorrow! YEA!!

Try Villa Montessori. Excellent school in the Arcadia/Biltmore area. Also - see if you can maybe get a waiver to one of the Arcadia-area elementary schools. Some are quite good.

Why are you moving? You are only going to be at Gateway CC two days per week. Clinicals may take you all over the Valley.

Got my email today too!!:yeah:

I am another! Got into Fellows March 2009 @ GWC. What is this coffee business? I would love to get together and meet some of the people in our cohort? I am Leigh, M, 20's, live in Chandler! Congrats everyone who got in!

I also am in March 2009 GWC Fellows! Would love to meet some people in the cohort. Congrats to all that made it!

yay I got my email and my status changed also!! I can't wait to get all the other information! and to start and meet all the others that will be at MCC! and in response to mayaquice:

I was unaware that they provided medical insurance through this program. Or did I misunderstand & this is through your job?

No, there is no medical insurance from this program, I just meant that my insurance that I get from my mother's company is only available to me if I maintain 12 credits. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey Leigh, Congrats to you too!! Well I was just thinking it would be fun to get together with everybody who wants to before the orientation... we've all been waiting so long to get started. It will be great to meet some people from our cohort...just an idea, but how about we locate a "coffee shop" near campus and make it on a week day at 8:00am so that some of us who need to can do a dry run (as it were) and gauge about how long we need to allow for traffic etc on lecture days....again just a thought. Sound good?

How long is the contract that you sign with Banner after graduation?
