Banner Nurse Fellows Program

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

Does anyone know where the July and October are being held? Thanks!

Banner Fellows next program starts are July, October and March 09. Can anyone give the information on which community colleges are placed at which cohort, or do they place all ( Chandler, Gateway, Glendale, Estrella and Mesa) at each cohort? Also, do you have choices in which college you are placed at?

From what I know, they only place 2 or so colleges for each cohort. I too am trying to find out which locations are coming up in July, and October. I know that March is Gateway and one other. I think Glendale is only once a year, and Gateway is more than once I think. Can anyone shed any light. Also, on the application that you get at the info session asks you which location you prefer, you rank their order.

Thank you so much. I guess in my case I would put down any one of those, because at this time I am not choosy. I just want to start this journey and stop obsessing about the placement board, my time stamp and every other nursing program that keeps popping up.:bugeyes:

You list Oct twice. Can you clarify? Also, I know that they have opened MCC for Block 1, but I'm not sure for when? Thanks!

looking for advice here:specs:

i am in the march cohort at gateway and i have started browsing through some of my texts.

fundamentals of nursing and intro to pharmacology and the nursing process seem like reasonable places to start but that could be me making assumptions.

what texts did you use for block one?

I applied for the July start and they start interviews next month. I turned in my application the first week in February and they called me last week to schedule an interview which is in mid March. From what I got at the meeting interviews last from March to mid april and notification is sometime in May. :nuke:

I just got done with block 1 at Gateway. I don't recall that we had a book called the nursing process.

Pharm: We used the Pharmacology book and the Mosbys drug book.

Process: We used the "lewis- med/Surg" , "'Potter fundamentals of nursing" and the "Varcalos mental health nursing books".

Nursing Science: We used the Potter book too.

Clinical: The "nursing diagnostic handbook by Ackley' is good for care plans. There is also a little pocket size clinical companion book that was good.

You might have different books. The books mentioned are the main ones we used but some of the other books are useful too.

Several students used the CD to access all their books on the computer.

A lady from the book company came the 2nd week to explain all the software stuff for the books.

Do you know which locations the cohorts are for July and Oct. I turned in my application 1/16/08 and haven't heard a peep. It's driving me nuts!
