Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would start a thread for all of us awaiting letters from Baker for Spring/2009. Maybe we can all support each other while we are waiting and share any information that we "have heard" that may be helpful!
The way they explained it to me when I went in last year, is that we just get another point added on if we try again.
So they don't use percentages. They use actual points, for everyone. Everyone is out of 25 points. Just like with the transfer points, and the repeat points. Not everyone gets them.
Just focus on the actual points.
That being said, I have almost no chance this time around. Last time, number 30 had 23 points. This time it seems like it will be even higher.
I just hope I do well on the Hesi, so I have another option.

Gem,
You have an excellent shot. Don't get discouraged. You are going to get in!
I hope that no matter what happens, we will all be able to make it into a program for fall '09. I'm trying at MCC (even though I like Baker a lot and I'm there currently), but at this point I just want to get into nursing school. I don't care where!
I think we all have to stay positive and support each other. Yes, we are all competing against one another, but I actually have a soul and I'm willing to support my competitors - especially those who have tried year after year to get in. I really admire that determination, and I believe it will pay off!
Hi Everyone, As we are all heading to Baker to turn in our apps, I just wanted to wish you, all the blessings in this world and am praying that you all will be in! I thank everyone also for their words of encouragement and help over the last few months! You are all the best and are going be wonderful nurses!
God Bless!!!
Hi there,I don't know about you guys but I'm having major anxiety!! I couldn't sleep at all last night tossing and turning thinking I turned an empty packet! LOL or that I failed my last two classes and ALL my hard work was wasted!!
February cannot get here fast enough!!
I know exactly what you mean. I wish we could just fast forward two months. I suspect I will start stalking the mailman by the third week in January.

Hi Palmari,
I did recieve your pm but am having trouble responding. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong but........
I understand what your saying about the points, I know a few people myself that ended up with 22 for that very reason.
sooo... like I said I will ask on Monday but what I've heard is this..... I kept saying at school about people coming in with this extra point and a lot of the girls would say but its out of a scale of 25 .... not really sure what that meant until one girl said ....what ever the points are you divide by 25 if your a repeater and divide by 24 for first timers sooo.......
25 repeater would have 100%
24 first timer ... 100% (I haven't found one yet, don't panic)
24/25 .... 96% .... NO STRESS!! YOUR GONNA MAKE IT!!
This scale may be just a rumor,...although last time reapeaters weren't such an issue because it was the first time they gave an extra point.....
