Baker College NET test

Published

Hi everyone!

I will be taking the NET at Baker this spring. Does anyone know if their test includes A & P?

Specializes in OR Peri Operative.

What instructor did you take for patho at AH campus? I had a AWESOME teacher.

I loved pretty much all my instructors at AH, so if anyone has more pre-req's to take let me know and I will tell you who to take and who to stay away from.

CB, I have Steven Sucaet for Path (I think that is how you spell it, I may be mistaken). So far I really like him.

I had Dr. Tominello at CT for my A&Ps and he was really great too. I have Neri for Pharm. I can't find any feedback on her, but she seems like she will be a good choice as well.

I have Jane Cox for A&P 1 and Pat Sadler for the lab. I have only had 1 class with them but they seem really nice. Jane sat down with me to schedule my classes a while back. She was very helpful when a lot of the others just said no...lol.

I also have Neri for Pharm. I think I will like her. She seems very fair and interesting to listen to. What night do you have? I am Wednesday.

I have her on Monday. I am supposed to be studying right now. Taking a 10. We have one class less than yours due to Memorial Day. She told us we would have to stay until 10 then didn't even complete the chap 1 lecture and let us out at 9:15.

There is just so much to go over and I am feeling overwhelmed right now. I have 4 kids under the age of 6 and I really look forward to my class time.:lol2:

First, Shannon, I had speech and comp2 last time, and with A&P2 I would advise against it too. There is as much writing in speech as there is in comp2. Who do you have for A&P2?

Jabramam, who do you have for holisitcs? We had to do a 10 page paper, last semester. I have Pharm this time on Monday nights. The guy at AH is really great so far. Several people complained about the path teacher, so I switched out of it. I am so glad I did.

Just this last term. :yeah: I am just hoping to be one of the ones to get in. I am really scared that I won't.

I am really scared too that I won't get in. When are you taking the NET? Let's try to stay positive!!

I take it April 21st.

Do you know if it is the paper version??

I am a bit worried about the Pharm exam this week. And I have the dosage quiz the same day I have the NET. LOL Should be great. LOL

I believe it is given on the computer (I could be wrong) For the Pharm exam, are you going to study just the lecture notes. I am a bit confused as to what is going to be on the exam. I am practicing calculations today! I thought I was done with math. I hate this.

I am confused by it too. I am going to study the notes only because that is what she said, but I also read each of the chapters she said would be on the test and did the study guide work for them. Only because I am confused by what is due and what isn't. LOL

I spent 12 hours going over the math stuff for the class. I feel fairly sound in that I know what I am doing with that. But I have been mistaken before!:chuckle

Hey Jabraham99 did you take the pharm exam? Our class was canceled so we have to take it next week. The same day I have to take the NET, and the next day I have a path exam.

If you did, was studying the pp's enough??

Oh and if you didn't do it already, I recommend taking the paid pre-test for the NET. It gave me a lot of insight to what I didn't know on the NET and while it was shorter than the actual test, it was put out by the same company. We only have to have a score of 80 to get all the points possible. :)

Wow, you are going to be busy next Monday! I have the pharm exam tonight, I will post later and let you know how it is, what to study! When you took the pre-test for the NET what it the one that you can download for $15 from Erie's website? Also, (I may have asked this before) do you know what is going to be on the NET? I was in Holistics yesterday and someone taking the test on Monday told me there was Chemistry and Biology, this makes me nervous.

When I asked at the office they did say that there was going to be some science on it. The green paper they gave me says that there will be:

  • your science reading ability, comparing it against the level of mastery required for success in college
  • basic mathematics, the math necessary for you to function in academic courses.
  • your effective speed in reading college level material.
  • your study approach and your most effective learning styles
  • assesses your grammar, capitalization, spelling skills and your ability to organize your ideas in a written format.
  • your science vocabulary strength for biology, anatomy and physiology, cellular biology and chemistry.

The $15.00 pretest, specifically this one: http://www.eriworld.com/index.aspx . Really gave me a good idea of the reading, grammar and math. I happen to have the study guide put out by this company, and it is almost exactly like the test. I had gotten a couple of other study guides and one of them, has lots of extra stuff that we don't even have to worry about. I would recommend taking the pretest about a week before the NET and then going over all that you didn't know from that. That pre-test doesn't have any of the science stuff on it. But after taking all these classes I do feel prepared for most of it. Best choice answers, so we have to be able to critically think our way around the question.

I am nervous about it, but I was a lot more nervous before I found out that I only had to get an 80 composite score. I did 86 on the pre-test and I can easily understand now where I fell short.

And I would SO appreciate if you posted after your exam. I hate the first exam in any class. I am a little confused how we are going to make up all the time in our class. Now we have two classes less than everyone else.
