Bad pop up, BUT passed the NCLEX-PN!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I just wanted fellow new nursing nclex test takers to know that the "pop up check" on Pearson's has changed. From what I understand, you now have to ADD YOUR CC INFORMATION, let it go through, THEN get the good or bad pop up.

I recently took my boards on 9-4-14. After the test I ran to the car to do the Pearson's trick, got what I thought was the "bad pop up" (the cc page) and was devistated... I went out of town on the 10th, was still studying on the plane and throughout my trip, not giving up. Came back home. On the 15th (after have accepting my failure) I went to my BON website to get info on retesting. As I was on the site I seen the search for license link, something in my head said "search for your name just to see what comes up". After doing so, I seen my name pop up with an license issue date(9-8-14), expiration date and examination active status. So at 1st I thought "oh this just must be the OK status JUST TO TAKE the NCLEX". WRONG. I was looking at my license and didn't even know it! But what I did notice was the expiration date which was in 2016. So I thought "you only get 1 year to take the test after registering so..." I instantly ran to check the mail and there it was! That big golden envelope from the BON with my name on it. As I looked through the envelope, I could see bold cursive writing behind my addressed name. Could it be? IT WAS, MY LICENSE! My license came in the mail on 9-10-14 right after I left to go out of town!

I'm still shaking and praising God! As I write this it's been less than 24 hrs since I found out that I am officially a nurse!

So unless your willing to risk spending another $200 right after you take your nclex, you should just wait 2-3 business days, go to your BON website, and search your name under the license search link. If it shows up with an issue date, expiration date, active status, and an examination licensed status YOU PASSED. So go check the mail! :-D

Congrats! Can you clarify something? When you said you got the "bad pop up" did you submit your cc and got charged? Because everyone trying to do the pvt goes to the cc page and you have to submit it before you get the pop up. Thanks :)

Hello and thanks.

To clarify, I went to the cc page. I did NOT submit my cc info. I was told that if it takes you to the cc page, you failed.

Now I understand that you must actually submit your cc info for it to be charged to get the bad pop up. I wrote the post for people who are thinking like I was because I know I wasn't the only on who thought: cc page = failed.

The good pop up vs. bad pop up thing is out of date by at least four weeks.

Yes the title on this is a bit misleading. You didn't get the bad pop-up because you didn't do the current "trick". For fellow readers be aware that the trick was not fully done in this instance.

Exactly the trick does still work it's just done differently now

Just for the readers

The title is incorrect, since the OP did NOT submit payment. Everyone is lead to the CC pages. You must submit your credit card info to receive the "good/bad popup".

It's obvious to readers what I'm trying to get across here. Im clearly stating what you just said. A lot of new test takers don't know that you must go through actual cc processing before getting the good or bad pop up. There are countless older post on this website that state the old way of doing the trick. This post is simply an update to the current situation... One that I wish I had known 2 weeks ago.

I guess just waiting, instead of trying to figure out technology tricks, is out of the question?

Yes. The new trick actually does work. I took my test on September 3rd, still waiting to hear if I passed officially because I'm in California. I've been getting the good pop up every day since and that has put my mind at ease.

Congratulations!

I sat for the NClex- pn in San Dimas, Calif. On July 12, 2018. I tried the trick but I started with using the correct CC # and different exp date and different code. It wasn't accepting the card, it cleared the CC info and said basically to re- enter it because it was incorrect. I later entered all the correct info and clicked affirm for two times to send the test results to my school- shout out to Marian College! Anyways, it forwarded me to page 3 where I got the good pop-up saying it couldn't process it basically - but not because it was pending or on hold. I can't really believe yet I passed though- there were so many unknowns in that test that I still don't know the answer to ( not in the books) . I finished in 2 hours with 85 questions, and I didn't like that test one bit- nothing I studied hardly. I filled up the board with reference numbers and notes- didn't refer to it at all but maybe a tiny once, but it was obvious number I really didn't even need the board - no one math problem! I feel I bombed it really. So far, that's where I'm at. Still reviewing test questions if I have to sit for it again.....
