Hello fellow forum members,
I've some bad news to share with you from Norfolk, VA. A nurse from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital started feeling ill at work. She stuck it out as long as she could, but finally clocked out and went home.
On the way home, she started felling even worse, so pulled into Sentara Leigh Hospital's E.R. since it was on her way home. She sat in the waiting room for more than two hours before being seen. Four hours later, in the E.R. She died.
The culprit seems to be an extremely virulent form of Bacterial Menengitis. Now all of her co-workers, and patients, etc...are in crisis mode.
I thought you would like to know about this, and hope that you will say a prayer for the family and friends left behind by this tragedy.
It sickens me that this happened. No warning, no symptoms other than a bit of nausea. Who would have ever thought it would be menengitis.
My solace: She is with the Lord now. No suffering, no pain, just eternity in the presence of His grace and love.

That is really sad! How old was she? Prayers for friends and family.
No further update regarding any additional details yet. I did not know her, but I am friends with some of her co-workers. Everyone is still rather numb over this one. I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I will keep you updated as I hear anything.

My son had bacterial meningitis last year....we are still fighting the residual effects of the damage that it caused. There we 2 cases that I knew about in WV in March of 02.
I am really sorry to hear about another outbreak. It is a shame there were no warning signs. I will keep her family and friend in my thoughts and prayers.
