If you have a .edu email address you can get an Amazon Prime membership free for one year. It normaly costs $79 for a year! With Prime you get free 2-day shipping and can upgrade to overnight shipping for $4. You just have to give your .edu address and tell them your state and major. They send you a confirmation email and voila! You have free Prime!
Wow, thanks for posting! My school seems intent on waiting until the last minute to give us a book list so that 2 day shipping might come in mighty handy!
Agreed! My school doesnt release the book list until the beginning of August and classes start on August 23rd! Thats so dumb to me, there are people who like to get their supplies EARLY so they dont have to scramble around at the last minute...

Ours starts on the 19th! And when I called the bookstore yesterday to inquire about the mysterious book list, I was told they wouldn't get it until the 1st. EVERY other course already has their books set up and ready to go.
Do you know how long this will last? I am already a Prime member so I already paid for my year. I wonder if they will give me a year extension on top of the one I already paid for?
From the FAQ on Amazon Student website:
If you're already an Amazon Prime member, you can still sign up for Amazon Student if you are eligible. After you sign up for Amazon Student, well refund you the remaining months left on your current Amazon Prime subscription.
Did anyone have a problem stating that your .edu email was not valid? Did you have to create a new account, or were you able to do it while logged in to your normal account. I don't want to create a new account unless I have to.Me
Don't know what to tell you about the first part, but I did take advantage of the offer while logged into my regular account. The verification email went to my .edu email, and the upgrade successful email went to my regular personal email address previously associated with my account...
Are you able to log in to your .edu email address? Perhaps their verification email was rejected and that is why they are saying it's not valid...
