I'm doing some research and am wondering what the average age is of graduating nurses these days. What is your experience?
When I graduated from nursing in the early 80s, most of us were in our early 20s, but I'm told that more and more nursing classes have more older students who are going back to school for a second career.
Thanks!
I will be 28 when I graduate next year from my BSN program. We have 42 students; there are only 5 students in my program that are older than me, the rest are about 20-25 (one gil was 19 our first year). I hear the ASN programs have a higher variety of ages because a lot of adults that go back for a second career or ex-stay at home moms go this route.

I graduate in May as well and will be just a few months shy of 31. My class has people who range in age from mid 20's to late 40's. It's really a wide range. I'd venture to guess that the average age is somewhere in the early to mid 30's for my group.
We are an ASN course. From what I have seen the BSN students in clinical are generally younger.
