I'm doing some research and am wondering what the average age is of graduating nurses these days. What is your experience?
When I graduated from nursing in the early 80s, most of us were in our early 20s, but I'm told that more and more nursing classes have more older students who are going back to school for a second career.
Thanks!
I'll be 39 when I graduate my LPN school. And 40 when I get my RN!
I started out in nursing school in the late 80's as the traditional student (just graduated high school).
My class of 38 the average age seems to be around early 30's. We have some really young ones (18, 19 yr olds) and a few that are a tad older than me.

I graduated at age 20 with my RN, but the vast majority of my graduating class were in their 30s and 40s. We had a few in their 50s. I really felt like the minority. A lot of my classmates had previous bachelors degrees and one already had a masters degree.
