Hi ya'll-
Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?
My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!
How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.
Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

Hi everyone!
This is the first time I have posted. I applied to the ACC nursing school in June 10' and my rank was a 48. I did not get a petition for the nursing skills class. I plan to reapply on Jan 15th 11' with a 53.
I am also looking at the TX State nursing program in RR. TX state says I need to take Nutrition and also says I need to retake CHEM 1 and CHEM 2. I took these 2 chem classes back in 1993 when I got my undergrad. They said I needed to retake them because they are too old. :-( In the meantime I am taking Nutrition and may take the chemistry classes this spring and summer so that I could possibly go to TX State in the Fall of 11'.
I would rather go to ACC and get my ADN and then decide to get my BSN later. Is it really necessary for me to get my BSN if I want to be a bedside nurse (hospice)?
Please offer me some advice.... I don't want to spend the extra money to get my BSN if my ADN is sufficient.
Thanks!
WOW!! Thanks so much for the CEC advice. I have heard such great things about it! I live near the Cypress Creek Campus and my only hang up so far is the drive and trying to get there by 8 :) May be worth it to excperience Nursing school there!
Thanks a bunch and if anyone can tell me about their experience at RRm I would love to hear it!
Hey you all. I am still waiting for this letter any ideas on when they will send the acceptance letters. Also I have a score of 57.29 points. What are my chances of me getting in this time?
Check the Application Status Update page on the ACC site. Hasn't been updated since 8/18 but it says it will be updated the "week of" the letters and then we'll know to keep our eyes peeled.
Unless the scores have drastically improved since last time, (where the lowest score was around a 52 I think, and only about 1/2 of the accepted class were applying for the 2nd time) I'd say you're pretty much a lock to get in. It's people like me who are applying for the first time with less than a perfect score that should be nervous! (AND I AM.)
I would say you're pretty much in with a score like that!! :yeah:Knowing ACC they will let us know on Sept 30th lol. I have a dilemma right now and I would like to know if any of you knew anyone else who faced my situation. I'm supposed to have my baby in March right in the middle of the semester if I get in. I guess what i'm asking is do you all know anyone who still attempted the nursing program while having a baby during the semester or did they just defer? I would like to go to RRC but i'm thinking the hybrid may work better-i'm just confused. Anyone have any thoughts-even if it is what you would do in the situation-I just don't want to mess up in the program!

Im a CEC level one and I LOVE CEC.The teachers are the best and they are really nice and layed back, they're not up tight like my nursing skills teachers. Its really amazing because you get to see doctors, nursing interns, and so many other health professionals at CEC and they have amazing food in the cafeteria. I love the labs cause they are more realistic and easier to work with then at RR or EVC where you have a room full of beds. There is also alot more room to move around and the people at CEC library are amazing. They are not snitchy about you printing out things. CEC is actually attached directly to brack so you see alot of people like med students and it is really cool and motivates you when you see other nurses walking by. I haven't found anything i havent liked about CEC. I didn't like EVC where i had my nursing skills class because there was little room and we had to pretend ALOT. We used diffrent labs at CEC. The only thing that is a turn down is the open lab place is a little small with like 10 beds but you can always go to the other nursing labs to practice but i havent had trouble with getting a bed. ALso, when you sart out you will get lost alot but you'll quickly find stuff. CEC is a really good place and it is diffrent and more real. It is truly a unique place and i don't know of any other place where you can have all you nursing classes in a real hospital. You will really love the level 1 teachers here, they are SO NICE
