Hi ya'll-
Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?
My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!
How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.
Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!
Colleen
Once again I will say that I am very impressed with the amount of updates and info we are provided with this time around! I am glad to hear that all applications have been finalized and they will post a notice on the week we should get emails. So much better to hear all this from the department itself rather than word of mouth. Hopefully all these updates have helped resolve the problem of students calling with tons of questions which are found on the website. Good for them!
Hi, jschutze! I was up early today and saw your post -- hope you don't mind a newbie-Level 1 jumping in. :)
RR is an on-site program, like EVC is. You take classes and have labs at the RR campus. The labs are all brand-new and have sim mannequins. The campus isn't 100% complete yet (i.e. no food service), but it's very nice.
Hybrid is the online option, which is what I do. We don't have regular theory (lecture) classes, but we have labs at the RR campus. It requires a lot of discipline to get through the theory portion without direct guidance, but we have a very active discussion board on BlackBoard, and the instructors are pretty much always accessible. (One of ours works nights, and told us if we were studying at 3 a.m. and had a question, to text her!) It's definitely not for everyone, though.
CEC is an on-site program held at Brackenridge. A lot of people really like this option, and I know several of the Fall 2010 starters from AllNurses chose it.
There is some discussion about the different campus options here:

I hope this helps!
