Austin Community College - ACC - Spring '11 hopefuls

Published

Hi ya'll-

Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?

My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!

How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.

Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying :( so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

Colleen

Thanks radiationrn2be, that information was really helpful!

You have been granted departmental approval to register for RNSG 1105: Nursing Skills I, for classes that begin on January 19, 2010 of the Spring 2010 semester. We are only granting petitions for classes that begin on January 19, 2010 (or in that week depending on the start day). These are the four section numbers: 03123 OPC 001, 03124 Lab 003, 03125 Lab 007, 03540 Lab 004.

Radiation,

Quick question which you may not know the answer to: that email reads as if the approval is only for certain sections within first 10 weeks session(s) of the class offered in Spring. Any idea what happened to those who actually wanted to register for the later, 8-week Spring classes? My situation with work is such that I have to sign up for the 8 week class starting in late October, so I'm just curious if I will need to contact the dept. to get special approval to sign up for the later class. Thanks!!

Hmmmmm I'm not too sure texasceleste. Everyone I knew who got this email registered for the first sessions. Maybe it is different with it being spring semester nursing skills instead of fall nursing skills. Not too sure, when you get the approval email to register check it out, if it is like the one I posted I would just email the department and ask. They seem to be really quick with responses to emails now that they actually have someone hired to handle all the emails.

I got a petion for spring 2010 section of rnsg but was enrolled full time and so I wanted a summer 1st session class so when I got my petition in the e-mail I just e-mailed tammy back and she said that I could do it and gave me the petition for summer. However I had to wait till summer to register and when I tried I couldn't so I called the office and they did some nich stuff and I could register in 3 minutes. Just tell Tammy what you want and you should be able to do it, but remeber you may have to wait till the normal registration period for that session to open before you can register and you may have to call the office to make sure before you register that they have your account ok'd to do that.

New "Application Status" page on ADN site today!

Application Status Update

Thanks for that info texasceleste! At least now we have a better idea of what is going on!:)

I know some of yall have done the reapplication thing and I know I won't get in with my 48.73. I hope I can at least get into the nursing skills but we shall see. Anyway, when we do the reapplication form do we have to include all the paperwork again such as our transcript, shot record, the information session sheet, and the actual application all over again? or do we just fill out the reapplication form and give them that?

is only a single page that you get from the adn website....is pretty simple ...:p

Yeah it is only a one page reapplication form. The department has all of your immunization records already from the first time you applied.

I am really impressed with this new info though. They haven't been this organized the last few semesters.

anybody has an idea at what time during the day they'll be sending the petitions
