Austin Community College - ACC - Spring '11 hopefuls

Published

Hi ya'll-

Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?

My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!

How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.

Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying :( so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

How many people applied last semester and were rejected?

I ended up with a 48.73 and a recommendation from the lady at the front desk to not get my hopes up. :crying2:

My dad is in for a double bypass today and is hoping for the news that I got into the skills class to cheer him up... no pressure. I'm not expecting to get into the nursing program for Jan (though it would be a nice surprise), but I really hope to get into 1105. By the way, I thought the cutoff for skills was closer to 47 or 48.

Good luck to everyone!

I was initially rejected with a rank of 50.9 but got a call a few weeks later with an opening for the CEC campus. I deferred because I want hybrid and with my re-app points, I now have a 58.53 and I will get hybrid in Spring 2011.

The new Round Rock campus opened an extra 48 spots. They accepted 160 for Fall 2010. I was told that about 50% of those accepted for Fall 2010 were re-applicants. If you are sent a rejection letter, it tells you in the letter how close you were to the cut off. For example, it states "you were number 185 out of 160 accepted". Don't lose heart if you are close, a lot of people defer or don't pass background checks.

thanks for the helpful info, radiationrn2be. I am not giving hope yet with my solid 51.15!! Congrats on your hybrid spot for Spring!

lol man i have the exact same score 48.73. Im trying not to get my hopes up about the program but you just never know about the nursing skills class. GL...It looks like we will probably get in at the exact same time.

Good luck to you too, bluetrumpet!

Good Luck to everyone today!! I'm gonna be checking my email all day too!
