attention tall nurses!

Published

For the nurses 5'10" and taller, could you please tell me where you found scrubs long enough (@ least 34 inch inseam). All these catalogs and stores seem to think that a "tall" is 32 inches, as if no one over 5'8" wants to be a nurse. Thanks.

You'll be getting an onslaught of posts about your question but thought I would add mine.

My friends work in the hospitals as SPDS and nurses/doctors. The scrubs...size large are perfect and I'm 5 11. 34 inseam.

Can't wait to find out where to go!

I am also a tall nurse (5,10 between 155-165lbs). I have never had much of a problem finding scrub pants that are long enough. (I wear a size small uniform). I would try a specialty uniform shop if you are having trouble finding pants that are long enough.

My fave uniforms are made by lizzy B, and maple sheild (Canadian). Inseam in size small is 33.5" exactly. (Go figure). I always thought that I was better off being tall, as I hear the shorter girls talk about having to hem their pants.

I have purchased a few uniforms from eBay from the USA and the length has always been near perfect. (nursemates...i think). Drawstring waist pants I have found are usually longer too for some reason. :rotfl:

Happy Shopping!!

I Know that dickies makes a "long" size...I think it is a size 34 inseam...I know how you feel...I am not even tall (5'7") and I think my scrubs are to short! I hate when my socks show...my biggest pet peeve....

Im 6-2, male and buy scrubs off the rack all the time and have never had a problem. It depends on which ones you buy as well. The unisex ones tend to be the ones I get and they must be longer.

It's not about how tall you are, it's about how long your legs are. :rotfl: I have a measure 36 inches at the inseam and am 5' 7" tall. I have had good luck with both Lydia's Professional Uniforms. (google it) and greenscrubs.com.

If you hear of any others please pass them on. :)

Same here. 5'7" and I have a long torso and long legs.

I'm 5'11" too with an average to large body frame at about 175 lbs.

I completely love my Dickies Sandwashed Flare pants in size Large Tall.

The inseam is supposedly 32 inches but they ride low (just how I like them) so they seem much longer. Talk about COMFY too. When I get home I don't want to take them off because they are so soft. They aren't scratchy like other pairs of scrubs.

As a present to myself for passing the CNA test today I ordered 2 more pairs. :)

Give them a try girls! Here's a link to the only place I've been able to find them in talls. You pay an extra 3 bucks but as we all know, it's so worth it not to look like we're wearing capri's in winter.

I'm quite the oddball but I've gotten so used to wearing pants too short for me that I instinctively now wear them low on my tummy so that they are long enough. I've been doing this for so long now that I hate anything that would fit at my bellybutton. I bet that's why they fit me alright.

While we're on the topic, where do you ladies go to buy normal clothes?

I've found Old Navy to be good for khakis and jeans but all the fun funky pants never come in talls. :o

Gap is awesome too but as a student I can't really afford to spend $60 on a pair of pants. Lerner NY is nice for dressy stuff and the prices are reasonable.

Anymore hot spots for tall girl fashion? ;)
