Does anyone know how accurate these predictions are? Supposedly, if you get over a 70% on this test, you have a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX-RN. Any opinions on this?
I just took the ATI RN Comprehensive predictor. Our school uses it as an exit exam. You MUST get greater that a 90% probability to pass the NCLEX on the first attempt. According to the ATI rep at our campus....that a 70.7% overall score corresponds to a 90% chance of passing NCLEX. He also told us the exam is 180 questions....150 questions are for score. 30 questions are "trial" questions. A trial question is a "new" question not yet released as an "actual" question. Those questions are being evaluated for future use...LOL. Whatever.
Anyhow, I got a 84% overall score or 126 out of 150 correct. I thought it did a good job of trying to cover as much RN "stuff" that can possible be covered in 150 questions. Lots of leadership, fundamentals, prioritization, OB and peds. Psych wasn't covered all that well. Only 5 or so straight pharm questions....but a good handful of Med Error Preventions stuff.
That said...it told me I had a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX on first try. Can you feel my eyes rolling to what ATI said about me?...lol
I was pinned three days ago...so I am waiting to take the exam. Waiting on my school to send trascripts etc. As soon as I take the NCLEX, I'll repost and tell you my thoughts then...they might differ to what I think now...LOL

I got an 83% raw score which gave me a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX. I do not put much faith in this. To me, this means that there is 17% of what was tested that I missed. That's alot. Also, from my understanding, the ATI isn't so much a predictor of who will pass, but more so of who will fail without serious remediation. My 99% means that out of every one hundred students that scored an 83 on the ATI, 99 passed and 1 failed. Those are birth control odds, and I am the 0.01% that gets pregnant while using it correctly. So, I am spending about 4 hours a day studying while waiting for my ATT.
Can anyone give me some great tips on how to sudy for the ATI comprehensive predictor...our school requires an 75% in order to grad.... I find ATI very hard! I AM VERY NERVOUS, CANT FOCUS AND REALLY NEED SOME TEST TAKING TIPS FOR THIS PREDICTOR!
Don't be too nervous about the test. I found ATI predictor test very easy and not trustable. I know many friends in nursing school who didn't pass the ATI predictor but passed NCLEX. My advice to you is to do the unproctored test that the school provided. Go through the list of what you need to know more and go to the ATI book read it!!! I did it and got a very good score on all the ATI in nursing school. I thought the ATI tests were based solely on their books. Good luck.
Hey there....
I just took the NCLEX yesterday (anxiously awaiting my results):uhoh21: It shut me off at 75 (again, don't know if that is good or bad) But I did take the HURST nclex review and found it to be very helpful. Also, my college had the ATI's and they were required to pass classes, if we didn't pass with a level 2 proficiency then we were kicked out of school ( soooo much pressure). The last one we took was the comprehensive and I believe I got an 82, and it was hard! I don't know what any of theses statistics mean, but I am just praying I passed the boards!! Good Luck to you!!

My school already makes passing the ATI-predictor worth 7% of our overall grade along with a paper pencil ATI test worth 3% of our overall grade. I took the predictor and scored a 70. I am scheduled to take my NCLEX in January. So I hope the prediction is correct. Wish me luck!
