ATI comprehensive exam- How did you prepare?

I didn't...and I believe I got a 98-99%. It's not bad

My ADN program requires a 97% pass rate on the ATI comprehensive exam with 3 attempts, I have never taken an ATI exam so i was searching for any tips on effectively preparing for the exam. Also i've seen people advertising texts/DVDs and different ATI study questions for sale, just wondering which works best...

Hi I posted about this yesterday. The reading portion is tough because of the little time they give you to complete it. I recommend the ATI book version V, I noticed a lot of the questions were quite similar to what I saw in the book. Take two of the practice exams in the book and time yourself, that will give you an idea of how you will do on the test. Good luck

I think you may be talking about the teas test and this is not the exam she is posting about. Theres ATI exams that you take while in the program (if your school supports ATI) its to better help your chances of passing NCLEX.

To the OP...Do you have the texts and the DVD's for the exam? These are all you really need. Also do your instructors give the codes for the practice exams? I would recommend doing these over and over again and your should be fine. Good Luck!!

I STRONGLY recommend you purchase a few practice tests. I'm not sure how exactly you buy them (maybe the ATI website atitesting.com?) since my program included the study books, practice tests, and DVDs in with the cost of our textbooks - basically, we were required to pay for them. Anyway, the practice tests were the best study material for me. The questions on the practice tests are VERY similar to the questions on the actual tests (some are actually word-for-word!) and it really helps give you a feel for what the test will be like.

I found the DVDs extremely boring and I was only able to sit through about 15 mins. I almost fell asleep. The study guide books are very daunting as they're HUGE and the questions in them are almost too easy. I'm not the type of person that can just sit down and go through a book like that - I need to do something - and the practice tests gave me something to do.

Oh, and I passed with 99.98% on the first attempt. However, mine was for the LPN part of the program, but still. I was the only one in my class that bothered with the practice tests and I scored highest on the ATI exam.

If you known your key points and can make an educated choice you should be fine! Was not hard, I did not prepare and I passed... I was too busy with my 3000 mandary nclex questions
