Hello, I am new to allnurses.com and was wondering if anyone on here has also applied for ASU's spring start bsn program. Or if you have applied to their program before, and have been accepted or denied, and what your scores were. This is my first time applying there, and I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I know it's a very competitive program. My gpa out of the 13 pre-requisites was a 3.76 (I am taking my last 4 pre-requisites this semester) and I got a 100 on the math portion of the NET and a 73 on the reading portion of the NET. I, personally, am so glad they removed the essay portion, since I know that's what cost a lot of student from not getting into their program. But since now their essay has been removed, I have no way of guessing/estimating my chances compared to previous semesters since the point system is out of 6 now instead of 7. My total points is a 5.49 out of 6. So if you applied for asu's spring start nursing program, and don't mind also posting your scores on here or in a private message, that would be great! I have no idea what my chances are! Thanks for reading.
nope,in fact my admissions is under my maiden name, so everything that they mail me gets returned to them. i went into the myasu.edu and looked. i just figured since mine said nursing-downtown, that if someone else's said nursing-polytech, then we'd know if it was accurate or not.
sounds definitive to me. how exciting!!!! good for you!!
i hope all that are waiting on this thread get some good news:up: soon also.
MassagetoRN, sorry but ya everyone's should say that when they log in. I called asu college of nursing and confirmed... it will NOT notify you online if you're been accepted into the nursing program or not, that is just saying you have been accepted to asu. Mine also says "Congratulations etc..." when I log in.
+charged, where do you look?? and what was your total advancement score?? mine was 5.486, i'm hoping it's good enough to get in! i went to myasu, then clicked on "view your admissions applicaiton status", then looked under admissions, then view status. but i think that is just showing that you have been admitted to asu as a nursing major, but not into the program...??
jeym7,
i think you are right... since i'm a planner,(just in case i don't get in) i already applied for the fall 2009 semester eventhough we haven't recieved our letters of acceptance/denial yet.
the status says the same thing for my spring and fall applications. it reads congratulations. you have been accepted into the nursing - downtown program.
unfortunately, i think that is standard for every application they recieve. being accepted into the upper division program are the letters we are all anxiously waiting for. hopefully they were mailed today as my advisor previously indicated.
good luck everyone!!!
determined 2succeed, did you speak with your advisor recently about the letters being mailed out today? My correction letter states that the letters will be mailed out this week, but when I spoke to someone on the phone today, they said by the end of the month.
+charged,
That would figure if they have since extended the date since I met with my advisor on Sept 22nd. That's when he told me that the week of Oct 20th was the expected week for letters to go out. I asked him at that time why it takes so long to determine who is admitted when Summer grades were turned in by the end of Aug. His response was that the College of Nursing is loading all student information onto a new system and that there are system "glitches" from time to time that delay the process. I figured that since this was the first semester of applications without the essay that the process would be fast... guess I was wrong.
So, I guess we all have to wait with that awful knot in our stomachs until Nov!
All I can recommend is to stay positive and prepare for "Plan B" aka Fall semester just in case. I already turned in my Fall 09 app and have my NET test scheduled for the end of Dec. (Just in case you didn't know, ASU makes you take the NET all over again - they do not use prior scores) :smackingf
Good Luck and let us all know how it goes!
For those of you that dont have an ASU email account or didnt get this email... Here you go! Processing delay my ass - Its all the lazy people they have working in that office and are too busy flirting with one another.
Dear Student,
This email is to inform you that there has been a processing delay for the provisional advancement letters originally scheduled to be mailed this week. We apologize for this inconvenience but anticipate that you should know your nursing advancement status prior to the spring 2009 enrollment period starting in November.
We appreciate your patience.
