As of tomorrow, I'm no longer PRE-nursing!

Published

Tomorrow, I begin my 11-month LPN program! Ahhh!

I'm so excited and nervous I could just puke. :wideyed: Actually, I've been feeling nauseous all week. I thought maybe I was catching something or it was a side effect of my pain meds from my wisdom tooth surgery last week. But, in fact, I'm sure it's anxiety getting the best of me.

Wish me luck! :nailbiting:

That's exciting! I don't begin for another week, but I know exactly how you feel. Don't let anxiety get the best of you. Nursing school is something that others have conquered successfully, so we know that it's not impossible! I wish you the best of luck. :)

Thanks! Yes, I keep telling myself every nurse started somewhere! It's just tough when you read so many horror stories about how hard nursing school is!

I think it's different for everyone. There's too many factors to know how your own experience will be. Me, I try to be more optimistic, so I'm taking it one day at a time and making sure that I surround myself will people who can encourage me through the tough days. Hopefully, I'll have some great stories, rather than horror stories, about nursing school. At least, that's my goal!

That's a great viewpoint! I am sure you will do well in your program with that attitude! :)

What kind of program are you going into?

Good Luck! Vodka does great things for anxiety;)

I'm in the same boat, starting tomorrow. I think there's plenty of time for anxiety DURING the semester, so I'm saving mine up.

And be judicious with the vodka

Specializes in Postpartum, Mother/Baby, Comm. Health, Geriatric.

Best wishes fellow future :nurse:!

I start my LPN program Sept 3rd. I'm super excited and anxious.

Specializes in ICU.

I start the RN program next Tuesday. My nerves are starting to get to me a little. Trying to get everything done. I have my supplies and books. Med paperwork is done. Just need to get my CPR done by Sept. 5th. I'm super excited!

Specializes in Gerontology RN-BC and FNP MSN student.

I think prerequisites were more stressful than the program, once I got in.

Best wishes everyone!

It's an ADN program. It was actually kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision, but I'm glad that circumstances allowed me this opportunity. Hopefully my attitude will remain positive throughout the next 2 years!!

Yeah anatomy was a pain for me. Math is hard for me but they are refreshing some of the basics so that helps. We had to do a scavenger hunt and talk to other students, very awkward for me. I have a clinical tomorrow and don't know if we will use our books. I think its mostly cna check offs and a osha test. We will be there from 8 till 2 looong day.
