Specializes in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

This quarter (my second) we will be starting meds and learning IVs and such. Even though I just had a month off, I'm tired from all the catching up I had to do with my "real life." I also an mentoring a 1st quarter student and I'm scared I won't be able to help her with what she needs. I think, with a day away before the next quarter starts, I'm afraid I will have forgotten crucial things that I should have carved more time out to review in the meanwhile. I'm mostly afraid of the unknown of a new clinical site.

Do you feel like you settled? I had originally gone for pre-med but due to time constraints and a desperate desire to get into something medical I managed to get into the nursing program at school and, even though I am only about to start my second quarter, I feel like there are still amazing opportunities ahead of me and that if there is "something more," I am going to find it in nursing. I don't know how I'll feel when I get to where you are at but I am trying to embrace it all and I no longer fear that "having settled" feeling like I initially had when I was grieving the death of my med school dream.

Specializes in critical care.

This semester actually being the one that will kill me.

I'm in my last year of nursing school, and the only thing I'm afraid of right now is missing a due date on assignments! :)

Specializes in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC.

As someone who just started earlier this month. Failure. Killing someone. Dry cracked hands from washing them so much. Not passing NCLEX and not getting a job. Stressing out about bills from not working as much. Working too much and neglecting school.

I'm afraid of failure, not being able to find a job, but my worst fear is maggots ewwww

Specializes in Gerontology RN-BC and FNP MSN student.

I am afraid this semester can not GET OVER fast enough...so I dont have to spend 6 hours a week with a very annoying ( I am being nice) professor!

Failure. Plain and simple. :roflmao:

Specializes in Aesthetics, Med/Surg, Outpatient.

Afraid that my profs wont be able to help us much: program changed to Concept-based and this is the first semester they are teaching it. They even told us not to read ahead because theyd have no clue what to do

Semester 1 and we already did Tach suctioning & care, IV next week, then NGs, Foleys, then Meds right after that... we are doing more stuff than 2nd and 3rd year students in our first semester

As a nursing student, I am most afraid of any setback for my final semester of nursing school (i.e. medical, grades, any unexpected crisis) and not finding a job easily after school.

I am afraid of passing out while at clinical. It hasn't happened yet but I am a fainter lol

just have to make it through the next four months and I'm golden!

Not being able to find a job after graduation
