Failing....my first clinical starts in two weeks....my clinical teacher cannot stand me and she is looking for any reason to fail me....the anxiety has been overwhelming
Forget her. Seriously. Just concentrate on the task ahead and pay little attention to her. I've failed a nursing course before...it's not a big deal. You just pick yourself up by your boot straps and keep going. Getting wrapped up in drama and petty nursing instructors WILL contribute to failure though.

Killing someone. Is no one else afraid of this??!?! I work in ER...what if while I'm tending to my tension pneumothorax, my unassuming ABD pain turns into a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and I come back to find them dead?!?!?!
You, an individual, can tell students they will not have that much power; get over yourself ! :) . You will be part of a team. (And a ruptured ectopic won't kill anybody THAT fast).

there is no failure THERE IS ONLY FEEDBACK ! but currently I am a bit anxious about upcoming module 2 and med-surg clinicals , I just don't know what to expect there and second thing I don't want to make any serious mistake during my clinicals (med's error or smthg like that )

Failing as a student, then being unemployable as a new grad.

I do not get wrapped up in drama.....my teacher does though...I do not understand why some teachers believe they have this "power" and can make some students life a
drag....in theory I have an A...but she literally follows me around in lab and tells me "I can fail a student and there's nothing he/she can do about it." I have come to the conclusion that nursing school is the military...some nurses have no right being teachers...

Failing my last two semesters we've already had two people fail out and two people drop out. It's scary stuff.

Hmm... Let's see:
Getting lost on the way to clinicals
Being late for clinicals
Not passing the clinical background check because I have traffic tickets over $300
Getting fat
Losing my boyfriend/financial support (don't worry, this fear is irrational!)
Learning that I'm not as smart as I currently think I am
Picking the wrong battles
Having to study in a group/do group projects
Thinking I understand the concepts and then failing the test
Getting TB
Crying in front of everyone for a stupid reason (this is NOT irrational!)
Not being able to draw blood well
Dry hands from washing them so much
Getting my stethoscope stolen
Procrastination
Having no health insurance
I could go on... haha

I'm afraid of the male nurse dilemma to be honest. I've been shadowing a little lately, and I still see elders refusing male nurses. I accept the challenge, but it shall be interesting

I agree with several, though not all, of yours and would like to add...
-- Getting stuck with slackers in a group project and depending on them for my grade
-- Having difficulty juggling NS + working + family. I've been working full time and going to school part time for years, but everyone says NS is so much more difficult. I worry about paying bills if I have to quite or cut back on working hours
-- Making a huge, potentially fatal mistake, that someone has to rescue the patient from
-- Choosing the wrong mentor(s) - one(s) that teaches bad habits rather than good ones and not recognizing the difference
thegreatcfrank --- the best nurse I've every had was male...and a student! I encourage my 3 sons to follow Mom's footsteps and consider nursing. Men's deeper tone of voice and (usually) larger physique has a natural way of commanding more authority and sometimes you need that (my nurse handled a drunk who came into the ER and he did it perfectly while the drunk completely dismissed the female nurses). Men can be great caregivers and they usually have more strength than women since they build muscles more easily. Kudos to you for working in a mostly female-dominated industry.

As a nursing student, I'm afraid of not being enough to my instructors. Also, I fear I will fail. That bothers me a lot. I wish I could do something how to make my performance better and not disappointing my trainers.
