Army Nurse Corps FY2014

Hello,

I haven't seen any activity regarding the Army Nurse Corps. There is an impressive amount of AF/Navy posts which is incredible. I heard from a few recruiters that there are a very small amount of positions in Critical Care. I was told there were many Med-Surg and other specialties available however.

I am applying for Active Duty Critical Care ER for 2014. My application was sent to the board 10/31 and I am supposed to hear back the first week of December. So far I haven't been able to find much of any information on the internet about the program.

Is there anyone else out there? :)

BOARD SELECTED!!!!!!!!! Off to Ft.eustis for pre commission physical uniforms and ID cards! Then off to BOLC and USAGPAN!!!! HOOOOAH![/quote']

YAY!! Welcome to the Army Nurse Corps, buddy! :D Congrats!

Congrats!!! How did you find out? Do we have a website to see posted names?

I applied for a Army Nurse Corps Reserve 66H8A spot and my recruiter said it "appears" that I was selected. So, nothing official yet I guess! Keeping my fingers crossed. How long does it usually take before we get orders to BOLC?

Thanks Lunah! It's been a long fight, but I am honored to have the opportunity to serve.

Unless things have change since I was in the reserves you will start drilling with your unit before you go to BOLC. It takes 60-90 days before you get your orders to your unit.

Hello there,

I am new to this forum. Congratulations Ajax! what a relief it must be. Did anyone else got a call from their recruiter or been selected for FY 2014 Army Nurse Corp? I am still waiting for that phone call, and praying hard. Just wondering when we will know of the results.

Good day to you all, cheers

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted; long story but I ended up OML for USAGPAN last year. I reapplied for FY14, adding the CCRN to the mix and another year of strong nursing experience. Hopefully I will be selected this year and have the chance to attend and serve!!! Like everyone else, I am biting my nails waiting for THAT phone call......

Ajax CONGRATULATIONS!!! I remember you were OML last year too. Crossing my fingers that I will be joining you there!!!

Good luck to you all :)

@Irishliz Hello I'm an applicant for USAGPAN this year. My understanding of the OML list is limited. In a post you stated you were #3 on the OML list last year, did most of the OML list from last year not get approved for funding? Sorry if this is too personal of a question, but I'm anxious and was under the impression that most of the OML list for USAGPAN eventually gets funded most years.

Hi it's no problem to share what I know with you. I have been told that not everyone was activated depending on funding. I know a few people who were OML and are very qualified nurses and they were not pulled from the list. As for me I had a family emergency and accepted an OML spot, and did not pursue anything further and never heard from anyone again until a different recruiter contacted me to resubmit for this year.

Baxter and irishliz! Do not worry! I know that you will be hearing good news soon. Congress just reached a compromise on the FY 2014 defense budget, which will go in for a vote on Friday. The Army NEEDs CRNAs, I have heard that the shortage in the force is 100+ and that recruiters are being told we are mission priority. Additionally, w at going to sign a defense pact with Afghanistan, they will need Army CRNAs to staff the CSH/FST in support of the training and anti-terrorism mission. So keep your head held high and look forward to when were all breathing CS gas at camp Bullis :)
