  1. I just got the news today I was selected as an ER nurse for the Army Nurse Corps Active Duty 2014. I am very excited! I can't believe I was selected for one of the ten positions!
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome! I hear this year there are only 10 spots available for both ICU and ER combined. I definately think it is going to be a long shot, however my recruiter is fairly confident from what her and her higher ups tell her. I have a year and a half of ER experience with two years of PCU. I know I am light on the experience but I tried to make it up with certifications as I have my CEN and CCRN. I am also currently an ER traveler. I'm not sure if the overall pool of applicants dropped this year however since in September I believe they took away all incentives for new nurses. No sign on bonus or tuition reimbursements.
  3. Hello, I haven't seen any activity regarding the Army Nurse Corps. There is an impressive amount of AF/Navy posts which is incredible. I heard from a few recruiters that there are a very small amount of positions in Critical Care. I was told there were many Med-Surg and other specialties available however. I am applying for Active Duty Critical Care ER for 2014. My application was sent to the board 10/31 and I am supposed to hear back the first week of December. So far I haven't been able to find much of any information on the internet about the program. Is there anyone else out there? :)
