Are you able to see tests after grading?

We are not able to see our tests or quizzes after they are graded at all....the grades are posted and you basically are left to accpet it. I have a couple of problems with this...1st - how do we learn from our mistakes, I don't like not knowing what I missed especially with all the studying time I put in. 2nd, since the test are grades by humans and computers, mistakes can be made, I like to have the checks and balances of looking at things with two sets of eyes. Anyway enough of my gripping, just wanted to know if this was common in nursing schools.

In the program I was in you could meet with your instructor a week after the exam and look at what you got right and what you got wrong.

We take all of our tests in the computer. We get our grades after everyone has taken the test and after the instructor checks the statistics because sometimes some questions might need to be dropped. After all of that we usually review the whole test together in the classroom and if anybody has questions then you meet privately with the instructor to discuss your exam.

We can meet with our instructor one on one to see our exam/quizzes. I don't like it either. I want to see what I missed and have time to review what I missed to learn from my mistakes. I think they (the school) are afraid that the tests will get out and passed around. I understand that concept, but I really wish there was a way I could learn from my mistakes easier.

Our tests are computerized, so we see out grades immediately. After everyone is finished we can log back in and look at the correct answers and rationales. We also fill out a sheet while we're taking the test - we mark an x by the number of any questions that we're unsure of. Then afterward we mark the ones we got wrong and why (changed the answer, didn't read the questions thoroughly, didn't know the info) so we can track why our grades are what they are.

After that we have 24 hours to contest any questions we think are wrong.

I would be miserable never seeing our tests!

We have test review after each test(excpt the final)...We use scantrons/pencils(and have alternate items and math items on a separate sheet). We can also ask questions at test review. Also if you fail the test, you have to go to a formal test review with the instructor.

A lot of exams are scantron now. Depending on the professor, you might do a class review of your scantron and test after your exam has been graded. Also, they will probably offer office hours before finals so you can look at your old tests. You can do one-on-one review too if you really want extra help on going over an exam.
