APU ELM Fall 2016

Published

Hi All!

I am applying this year to Azusa Pacific University (Inland Empire Regional Center) this fall to start Fall of 2016. I was surprised that I couldn't find a thread for Fall 2016 Applicants so I decided start one for us. Here we can discuss/ask about our application or interview process or anything else relevant to this.:)

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi all! I just had my interview yesterday for the MSN-FNP program with a professor, and she extended an acceptance to me on the spot. She told me to expect the official letter to come in the mail in the next few days, and she told me to reserve Aug 23-24 for orientation. I applied to the main campus for the Fall 2016 start. Hoping to meet others who are accepted to the main campus! :]

Congrats! You were accepted to the Fall cohort right on the spot? !! Amazing! Do you mind sharing when you applied? And if your gpa was above a 3.0?

CONGRATS again! !!

Hey guys! I wanted to begin with telling you all congrats on your acceptance into the ELM Program! I can't wait to meet you all and start this journey. It's pretty early to be thinking about housing, but I'm looking to rent a house with roommates while in the program. Ideally I was looking to rent a house around the riverside or north (safe) San Bernardino area. I've already starting looking up homes on Zillow, so if any of you would like to be roomies let me now asap. ☺️☺️☺️

Hi Guys!

I just found out that I got accepted to the Fall 2016 cohort! I actually applied to Spring 2017 but got bumped up to Fall. I'm super excited! However, I haven't received any letters about deposits or anything we need to do before hand (ie immunization shots, registration dates, deposit, etc). I was wondering if any of you guys can share any information that you guys have gotten already.

Thanks in advance and congratulations to everyone!

Thanks!! :] Yes, I was accepted to the Fall 16 cohort for the MSN-FNP on the spot. I applied in late April, and my GPA was above 3.0. Good luck!

I am a single mom a little overwhelmed about how challenging and time consuming they make the program sound and wondering if anyone knows more to tell or the daily schedule of previous attendees so i can map my days out. I can start Aug 31 even though I got accepted for Jan. 9 since a space opened up...any more info about daily time schedule or classes am-pm

i live in glendale so also 20-30 min

@jaw513, BSN I am sure each semester and cohort will have different schedules but I have the very same concern! I have kids and am worried of the time I will have for them. I searched all the other forums and someone told us their schedule so I am kind of relying on that info...

The first 3 weeks we won't have clinical so class times are longer and are M-F. When clinical started she had class Monday 8-12, Tuesday 8-1, Wednesday 12-4:30, and clinical on Thursday 6:30am-6:30pm.

Just to reiterate this was a class schedule for a different earlier cohort and ours could be way different not to mention the campus' could have different schedules too. I hope this helps... it gave me some relief to know even if mine could be different.

Just curious dud anyone get any financial aid for the program?

And i read that for the last semester you will be doing three 12 hour shifts. .i think this would be okay if you have children because you'll have a few days off from clinical at least. Sorry, I'm not a student this is just what I read.

@hopefulkim99 I did my FAFSA about 3 weeks ago and got something in the mail that said they got my FA started and I need to do step 2 which is fill out the APU side of it. So I am assuming that after you complete you FAFSA you will get to move on to step 2. Also, the second step could take up to 6 weeks to process. After that there will be a third step, which I haven't gotten to yet and then you will be able to go into your APU account and see the exact award amount. Not sure if you were asking for all that info lol :-)

haha thanks that's helpful! !!Now I know I sound apply early if i want FA lol. .. i was curious if they had scholarships or if it was mostly loans. ...I'm sure it's mostly loans, but i like to be optimistic lol. ... I mean 43k for the BSN is on the cheaper end for California b private school.

I took both at Rio Hondo. The same instructor teaches both classes ;)
