APU ELM Fall 2016

Published

Hi All!

I am applying this year to Azusa Pacific University (Inland Empire Regional Center) this fall to start Fall of 2016. I was surprised that I couldn't find a thread for Fall 2016 Applicants so I decided start one for us. Here we can discuss/ask about our application or interview process or anything else relevant to this.:)

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hey all!!! once you've all started be sure to check in and let us know how is going! :)

Hi All,

I wanted to let everyone know that before you order your uniforms you should go to the school and try them on. They run REALY big. If you can't try them on I recommend ordering them a size smaller than you are... seriously... Really big!

Another warning: If you have not set up your ATI account be prepared to pay about 100 bucks. I wasn't expecting such a steep price so hopefully you won't have a heart attack now that you have been warned.

I also talked to Renee from SD campus and she told me that the HIPPA and blood borne training won't be scheduled right away. She said all of Azusa will have to take it at the same time (about 1,000 people) and when she knows when it will be she will send us an email.

Hope that helps someone out :-)

Thank you for the update!! Really helpful!!

Thank you for the heads up! I'll keep that in mind if i get in! Thank you!

Do we go to the student's store at the main campus or somewhere at the Monrovia campus to try on the uniforms? Thanks for all the helpful tips!

They should have some at your campus in IE. We can ask Judith on Monday at the conference call.

Are you guys doing that?

Hey Guys!

Can't wait to meet you all at tomorrows conference call! So far I've gotten CPR certified, and then I'm going for my physical tomorrow.

Don't forget to add our cohort Facebook page "APU ELM FALL 2016 Cohort- IE" :). I am still in the process of frantically looking for 2-3 roommates, so if you're interested in renting a room 15 minutes from school, please comment or shoot me a message. :)

Hi! Did you guys find out where/if we could try on the uniforms? Thanks :)

Hi simplycmplx,

I am not sure what campus you are attending or if your question got answered but I am attending the SD campus so I contacted Renee to try on uniforms. If you are going somewhere else there should be a person sending you all the info for the program and thats who you make an appointment with to try on the stuff. Dove Apparel sent each campus samples for us to try on. We have to order them soon.

Myself and another student ordered ours together to avoid the shipping costs since you have to spend $180 for free shipping and uniforms come out to be $170.

Hi GCNorthRim! Thank you for your reply! I actually never got a response. My program manager never mentioned anything about trying on the uniforms. I read in your previous post that the sizing of the uniforms are bigger than expected. I was wondering, did you choose the unisex uniform or womens? Also, did you get a chance to try on the lab coat? Thanks again for your help! I really appreciate it!

Hi simplycmplx! I was advised by a friend and by my program manager to not buy a lab coat because they do not get used. Most people go with the long sleeve under the scrubs. As for the scrubs I tried on and ordered the cargo pants that are unisex... more pockets are best :-) The tops are the same in the sense that they run big but I got the ladies top because they look less "frumpy". You can email your program person to ask about trying them on, hope that helps!

Hello!

I have an interview In a few weeks for the summer 2017 cohort!

Any tips or advice you could give me for the writing prompt/interview? I'm so nervous!
