Per the request of janina08 I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :)
Well I took my Nclex today for the 2nd time. I had 75 questions & like 10-12 SATA. Why so many SATA questions? Ugh! I heard that it is a good sign if you get these b/c they are higher level ?s. Is this right? Anyway two days of waiting ahead of me. I'll be checking the quick results website often!!! :typing
Thank God!!!! I PASSED!!!! I am an RN!!!! Yesterday was so awful for me, I kept thinking of the ones I got wrong and the drugs I had no idea what they were, and ALL those darn SATA questions.
I will be praying for all of you all to pass! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
:offtopic:
I have OFFICIALLY CLOSED MY BOOKS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
:sofahider.... SO Why do I feel COMPLETELY CLUELESS!!!!! I feel like picking up my Saunders book and re-reading Renal, Endocrine, Chest tubes, Cardio, Infections, Maternal ..... EVERYTHING!
I feel like I don't know anything...
anyway, it is suggested to stop studying two days before the test so I have STOPPED
.
Kano, I am not sure about the last question.... what psychosocial refers too... but don't worry too much....try to take your mind off it b/c it has past... I know that's easier said then done. I GUARENTEE that on Monday night I will be telling you guys how nervous I am waiting for my results and how I keep checking the BON!
:urgycld:
But, i know its not a good thing, so try to relax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is good!
:onbch:
It is normal to feel that way. But the best thing to do is leave your books closed. If you don't, then you will heighten your anxiety to the point where you will want to cram in everything in the two days you have left. You will start to second-guess yourself and that's not a feeling you want, walking into the NCLEX.
When you get your white board and your test begins, take a few minutes to write down the things you struggled with. For me...it was the standard, contact, precautions, etc... Every time one of those Q's came up, I would look at my board and go from there.
Don't worry too much about meds. Chances are you'll get out of this world meds you never heard of. I did. Know your basic classifications, and the suffixes. That will help you out immensely.
Try to relax. I stayed in a hotel 2 days prior to my test and even brought my husband and daughters with me. I didn't have to cook or clean and that jacuzzi sure was nice!
You know your stuff and you will do fine. Best of luck!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you April test takers. So far so good!!!
Congratulationssssss. So which patients can u room together and which patients u can't? Thank u
.
Congratulationsssss stephhhh. And also the new nurses who did it.
Generally, patients with the same kind of infections can be placed together. There was a post on here that broke it down pretty good but I couldn't find it. However, please make some time to read pgs. 180-181 in Saunders 3rd. ed. starting with Standard precautions. It goes into airborne, droplet, and contact precautions and what equipment you're supposed to wear/use. Hope this helps!!
update time! :)

You will be in my thoughts on the 7th. As well as the others on their test dates. You will make it! God is with you always...I know it's easier said than done, but think only of good things :) ...you will be fine...ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE if you trust in Him, and that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.:wink2:
You bet im on the same boat as you are, I'll be taking the test the day after you take yours (teehee*), I am stressed too...there was even a time when I just started crying...and then there was also a time when I just wanna laugh. I am sometimes confused whether i should do questions or read my books. I don't know if it's hormonal because I'm pregnant, or is it because even if I try to control myself, I am anxious about the test (i don't want to think about that word though:nono:)...although I try my very best not to let that get into my nerves and just think of all the good things that could happen after we pass this test.
I wanna think that all of us here in APRIL GROUP will PASS THE NCLEX. I just said a prayer a while ago lifting US all up to Him....and I know that everyone of us will be RNs very very soon because of His help!
The countdown has begun..many of us here who have taken the exam have passed and that is a good sign.
