I'm not sure weather I hate it or love it. I go by the seasons and just watch the day. The days grow longer and I start waking earlier. When I naturally begin to rise at 6 and then earlier I know it is the time to DST. This year DST didn't arrive early enough. I was waking at 6 am for a month now and started to wake even earlier. I was going to bed earlier too. Waking with the sun rise is just natural for me. It seems that DST is just adjusting to where our clocks should be already. :) That's why it is easy to make the switch. Sometimes what I hate is our artificial concept of dividing time. But in today's world it is all too necessary.

I forgot to post this earlier. Last night before DH and I went to bed I asked him if he knew it was DST and set the clocks forward one hour. He never does it and chooses to wait until the next morning which I find very irritating. LOL But I don't want to go around the house and do it either! :chuckle: But I didn't want my children to be confused when they woke up so I went into my son's bedroom before I went to bed where three of my children would be sleeping and told them I was changing the clocks due to DST then said goodnight.

In the morning I slept in but when I open my eyes I look at our bedroom wall clock and it appears to be the correct time. I know it is because DH watches Robert Schuller every Sunday morning and it comes on at 8:30. Well it is that time and I can hear the singing. So I'm thinking wow he must have gone around and changed the clocks. That's not like him! Later he comes to me and asks did I change the clock in the bedroom? noooooo..... didn't you? noooooo.......

We have gone back and forth and we each insist we did not set the clock in our bedroom one hour ahead. That clock is way high up on the wall. You have to get a step ladder to reach it. If I have to deal with it I usually get a broom and hit it down. :lol2: We live in a house that is 100 years old so the ceilings are 12 feet high which is why the clock is so high that one cannot possibly reach it with one's hands just standing up and stretching out the arms. Who or what changed the clock in our bedroom? Everyone in our house says no they did not. No one is snickering as if playing a joke. Plus I went to bed early, was the first in bed and the last out and I can swear that no one came in my bedroom and changed the clock to the right time. We are dumbfounded! It's a mystery.

I am in Indiana. My whole entire life, we have never observed DST. This year is the first year we have done it and I can honestly say I HATE this. I cannot for the life of me get the time changed on my cable box or on the radio in the SUV, I forgot I have to change my watches too!

I feel like I am in some bizarre episode of the twilight zone!

I just noticed that my VCR is still showing the old time. Well at least it is not blinking 12:00! It did that for years! :chuckle:

Lori,

Your cable box should have changed automatically. If it didn't, unplug it for a few moments then plug it back in. Sorry, can't help you with the SUV clock until I can figure out how to change my truck's clock!:smackingf

Then I will have 6 whole months to forget how to do it again.

Hate it hate it HATE IT! The older I get the longer it takes me to catch up on that lost hour of rest.I detest bright, sunny,HOT summer days.I get depressed in the summer-and hole up in my cool, dark ,cave.......I love gloomy ,gray crisp and cool weather. I've been known to skip family functions due to summer.......

And here I thought I was the only backwards one. My favorite days are the ones that are gloomy and dreary looking. Throw in a rain or thunder storm and you've got a winner. As for DST, I hate having to change all the clocks, I find it very annoying. And I don't like for it to still be light outside so late into the day.

I love it because I love the longer daylight hours! It is just annoying to have to change all my clocks twice a year. I never could figure out how to change the radio clock in my SUV so it was right for the first time since Fall this morning! hahaha

I have checked and double checked that clock and it does not have a fancy timer or time keeping thingy that would change it. It is just a cheap wall clock with three hands, the second hand, hour and minute. You know the kind you put a AA battery in and just hang up. Nothing special about it. Everyone in the house insists that they did not change the time. And really, my kids don't care. LOL

Either you've got a time changing ghost or someone's played an april fools joke on you.

I'll just remember never to post a problem again on this site ever for it's obviously only for those who are in the allnurses clique.
