Applying to UCLA MECN to start Fall 2015?

Published

Hi! Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program? Last year I applied and wasn't accepted. I believe they accepted around 12%. They had 70 spaces down from 90 the previous year.

Yup, so this waiting game is driving me crazy. :nailbiting::drowning::cry::banghead:

Me too! I can hardly wait to hear from them again! I just hope we aren't waiting until the first week of April to hear back like the previous cohort...😞

I'm really hoping they let us know in March this year! April would be even more agonizing! HaHa. So glad to see so many people joining the waiting game with us. I also have not taken the Epidemiology course, yet.

I am also planning to take Chemistry II over spring. UCLA is on a quarter system, so the chemistry requirement is two courses, not 1

I took the integrated chemistry class that combines organic, inorganic, and biochemistry at moorpark college. So glad that class is over with haha. I'm glad we are all in this waiting game together! 😄

I also took the integrated class, but at LA Trade Tech. I haven't taken the epidemiology prerequisite either.

I took epidemiology at CSUN while finishing my BA in psychology last semester. It was a pretty interesting class that involved fairly simple calculations for various rates of disease 👍😊

If I remember the 2014 thread correctly, the delay last year was because they were down one person in the office. If that was the case, we should hopefully have the decisions by March.

Hello everyone.

I got an email from the UC President about the UC system so I looked around on the website for the nursing programs.

I have a bachelor degree in human services and finishing 2 science pre-reqs. I am interested in the Master's (MECN) program.

I am curious because I did not see it, but is there an assessment requirement such as the TEAS or anything?

Thanks for any response.

Does anyone know when the last day to get transcripts to UCLA is?

Teas and similar assessments are not required at ucla

Does anyone know when the last day to get transcripts to UCLA is?

I spoke with one of the recruitment coordinators on the phone the other day about this. She informed me that technically the deadline for final transcripts is January 15th. However, she said they do try and hold onto applications as long as possible before beginning to process them. She said at some point though they do need to start processing them. If you have your final grades already try emailing her a copy of your unofficial final transcript. Then send the official copy as soon as possible. That's what she advised me to do.

It was was the problem . I am currently a first year MECN and I did not get a response from UCLA till mid April almost May. I was a long wait!
