Applying for NCLEX-RN in California, 2012 BSN Graduate from the Philippines

Greetings! I have recently moved here in California pursuing my dreams to be a registered nurse in this state. I have completed my BSN degree back in the Philippines and by grace, passed the 2012 Nursing Licensure Exam. Two weeks ago, I submitted my NCLEX-RN application to CA BRN. I have heard about the concurrency issues which caused a lot of serious dilemmas among Phil graduates. I have yet to find out their feedback about my application. Being realistic, I know that my chances of getting the permit without taking the "additional course work" are pretty slim. Is there any loop hole to this? I haven't mailed my clinical cases yet and if they ask me to, should I send my photocopied PRC cases? I badly need replies to this matter. Is there any way I could get the permit without studying for another two years just to solve this concurrency problem? Thanks!

LOOP HOLE? It doesn't bode well for the public you want to serve, if you are looking for loop holes.

Please help, I had my licensure,NCLEX, exam in California and since I don't have a SSS No. I applied for reciprocity in Vermont. I have now a license in Vermont. I was not practicing my profession for more than 5 years because of the retrogression, I have my vermont license be place in an inactive status. Now, that my pd is current and my employer is in New York, can I apply for New york license using my California NCLEX exam for licensure verification instead of my vermont license that is inactive. I can not renew my vermont license because I am not practicing my profession for more than 5 years now and vermont requirement for renewal should be practicing nursing within 5 years or take a re-entry program which is very costly. I hope someone out there can help. thank you.

Glad you corrected that slip of the tongue, that's one of the reasons the CA BON has been cracking down so hard on international students, more so coming in from the Phils, read on below:

Hmm....I think you better write to the VT BON directly, as VT recently (May 2012) started to require a SSN to apply or to renew their state's license. It's not so much that you couldn't practice your VT license now, it's more like you need to have a SSN to make things happen for you. I know there have been a couple of NM license holders who passed the NCLEX but are unable to get the actual license in their hands, until they can provide the BON a valid SSN.

Maybe also write to the NY BON as well and explain your situation.

You need to go through CVS which takes several months and you have to declare all licenses so CA and Vermont must be mentioned

WA state is one of the 13 states that are enforcing the concurrency rules and would be facing the possible denial of the application.

If I get denied by CA-BRN, will I have a hard time applying in another state? And would it be okay if I submit one application in another state while another is ongoing in a different state?

Suggest you read the various threads discussing this issue. Some have posted regarding the states they applied to and whether they had any issues or not
