This may be a far fetched thread but I am planning on applying next fall (or second half of year June 2nd-Dec 31st) for the Fall 2015 start AP BSN program (also applying on campus just to cover my bases). A little jealous that other schools like TWU can apply in the semester before the they are looking to start. Either way I was thinking this thread could help those who are needing to know the process and others who have info from advisors that could share with the rest of us. So here are my questions:
A. I have not taken HESI yet but UTA's does not require sciences from what I have found online and been told by others. Any tips on preparing for this? Which prereqs would you recommend having done prior to testing?
*B. Transferring outside pre-nursing requisites Intro to Nursing, Patho and Pharm. I got info from an advisor that I must fax a "portfolio" including an official transcript, copies of catalog description of course from college, and copy of syllabi for each course. Has anyone else done this and is this done AFTER courses are completed and appear on transcript? Or before the classes are taken? I am considering Brookhaven for these. Is it possible these NOT be approved? Did anyone stack these courses Intro and Pharm same semester or Patho and pharm?
C. UTA upper division elective. Medical Terminology is what is accepted for UTA AP BSN program. How have others taken the course? Such as online, over summer, flex term?
*As you can see B is my biggest concern.
If there is anything else someone would like to add please feel free. I want this thread to help make the application process as smooth as possible for others as well.
Thank you!
And for anyone who has had any reason to believe that they have any ticket or arrest that is higher than a Misdemeanor C a declaratory order is required to go to the BON. This process is VERY long and UTA will not allow anyone to start the program without being cleared beforehand. This also includes anything that may have happened as a minor that is not expunged or sealed.
I was looking through some older threads and saw that some people were seeing a change in their Degree Plan Evaluation. A partnership org code seemed to appear that wasn't previously there. Anyone happen to come across this? No changes on my end yet.
Hmmm...I just went to my Degree Plan Evaluation (logged into MyMav --> 'Self Service' drop down --> 'Degree Plan Evaluation'). Once I opened my "application" & it lists all the courses, GPA's, etc, next to 'Partner Org', there's a number + 'Texas Health Resources' next to it.
That may or may not mean anything. I didn't look previously, but I was also eligible for the program through Texas Health that would pay for my nursing program (for applicants who already have a degree in something else...was available as a "check box" during the nursing application process; I applied AP BSN only). So that may or may not have any significance as far as admissions/acceptance goes (at least in my case). If it was someone OTHER than Texas Health, I may think more of it. But not sure.
I have "partnership org" listed but no code that follows. I just called the advising office and a lady said we should all here something by Friday and if you don't to contact your advisor. She said she was originally told the 23rd (as we were told) but now she heard it was extended till Friday.

I would take that as a good sign... I also qualified for the THR scholarship program and I don't have anything next to the Partner Org header.
The THR (Texas Health Resources) indication simply is an indicator for who you are "Partnered" with. On the application, there was a place for you to indicate whether or not you are partnered with one of the facilities that they have a relationship with. If you currently work in the healthcare industry for certain hospitals, you will be labeled "Partnered" and it will indicate what facility you are "Partnered" (current hospital) with. Not all hospitals are "Partner" hospitals; however, many of the hospitals in the North Texas area are considered "Partnered".

Thank you for the information Beth0504. I almost wish they never told us a date range because knowing it and expecting it, is killing my nerves! I wonder if they are trying to email everyone's decision letters today or just start the process and if it depends on the academic advisors?
