Hi fellow applicants for 2010!!
I wanted to start a thread for all of us who are applying to various nursing schools in the area for 2010. I have applied to five different places: OHSU-Monmouth, University of Portland, Portland Community College, The University of Washington, and Boise State University. I wanted to cover myself and hopefully ensure that I would get in somewhere. I have a really good GPA and experience as an EMT-Basic so I am hoping that that will help my chances.
Just waiting it out until they send out notifications.....I just want to hear back!!!
Good luck to everyone who applied!
Hey, yeah I got the financial aid stuff in the mail as well. I don't believe it has any bearing on admission decisions. It's just so that when letters do go out they already have all the aid info they need. I wish it were a good sign though, the wait is killing me!!!
Good luck to everyone come early May!!
Does anyone plan to apply to Clackamas CC this April? If yes, was anyone able to fish out the information about last year's points needed to be invited to an interview/essay?
I have 54 for this year, does anybody know if it is competitive?
Thank you for the info.
Hey there! I'm planning on applying to CCC in April also...I am excited that their deadline is so comparatively late so I could have the chance to apply!
Unfortunately, I know nothing about what will be considered competitive points-wise. Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one!
Ok- actually I found something about CCC points, from an old forum on here- (I think it was a forum like this but for 2009)
"Hey tejon I am a first year CCC nursing student and most people who got in were in the 60 points range so 64 is great! If you get an interview it should be helpful to bring a paper and pen to write down thoughts while other people are speaking. I didn't do this but it would have been really helpful! Best of luck."
I was thinking I was pretty competitive with 58 points, but maybe not as much as I thought- if only I had finished all my prereqs already!
Anyone else know anything different? Also the tip about bringing something to write with was good, since it's a group interview. I probably wouldn't have thought of that either!
Did anyone who applied to OHSU-OCNE received a letter from Financial Aid, asking to pick a college for co-enrollment?I am not sure as to look at it as a good sign or is it just an automatic response to FAFSA that I recently filled out, and put OHSU as one of the schools in the list of possible schools I might be attending.
Hi! I applied OHSU's bsn program in Ashland and also received the financial aid letter. It just means they received your application-- does'nt imply anything else than that.
Got into UP's fall cohort program, but worried about how I can possibly afford it. Missed the providence scholar deadline. Anybody have any knowledge whether UP is helpful in finding assistance for you? I am filling out my FAFSA now. Anybody know whether or not the cost is worth the education you get compared to CC programs? Thanks for any info.!
