Hi fellow applicants for 2010!!
I wanted to start a thread for all of us who are applying to various nursing schools in the area for 2010. I have applied to five different places: OHSU-Monmouth, University of Portland, Portland Community College, The University of Washington, and Boise State University. I wanted to cover myself and hopefully ensure that I would get in somewhere. I have a really good GPA and experience as an EMT-Basic so I am hoping that that will help my chances.
Just waiting it out until they send out notifications.....I just want to hear back!!!
Good luck to everyone who applied!
I was thinking I was pretty competitive with 58 points, but maybe not as much as I thought- if only I had finished all my prereqs already!
The minimum for an interview at CCC was 54 the last two years according to the (unpublished) stats. 58 points is a good application score.
I am waiting to see if I get a letter from PCC because I was accepted to Linfield and it isn't my first choice.
I too am anxiously waiting for my PCC letter..I neurotically check the mail everyday in hopes something good will come LOL! I am applying for the first time this year to PCC w/ 57 points and CCC w/ 55. I hope I'm competitive, I have worked really hard and taken my time, but unfortunately haven't been able to afford the CNA. We'll have to see when the letters start pouring in...I hope we hear this week!
hi all,
i too applied to pcc, mhcc, ccc, and ohsu ocne program, but haven't heard anything yet. i am waiting very anxiously and it is my first year applying! i am hoping to get lucky the first time around! please wish me good luck! please let me know if any of you hear from any of the schools above, i would greatly appreciate it! i will let you all know if i hear anything too :)
So I called PCC and they are mailing out letters April 15th, they are still reviewing. Milton sounds like he has answered this question enough times to be slightly tired of it LOL . So we can stop hounding the mail carriers for PCC letters. And CCC should be mailing around the same time I believe...

dear kurdrn,
thank you for applying to the ohsu school of nursing! the office of admissions would like to take moment to inform you that your application to the bachelor of science with a major in nursing program is currently being reviewed. the reviewing process will not be finalized until late this month and notification letters will be mailed out the week of may 3rd 2010. all decisions will be communicated via postal mail.
for those of you who have been offered a spot of admission at a different institution and have a response deadline prior to the week of may 3rd, we encourage you to seek an extension of your response deadline with the respective institution.
we hope this information is of help and wish you the best of luck.
sincerely,
ohsu school of nursing
office of admissions
hope this info was helpful! thx!
SO, is any one in the little dingy boat that I am in, received acceptance from UP for 2011 spring, which is great if I could produce the tuition, but a still waiting for OHSU's reply on the 3rd of May, problems comes when I look at material from UP I have to accept there offer by the 1st of May!! I called today and the first person I talked to stated that they personally are unaware of a extension policy for accepting there program, is anyone else freaking or looking at paying the 400$ acceptance fee (where that will come from I don't know) to UP and still waiting to see if OHSU bights? So the stress never ends!
I am in the same boat - but my school letter was from Linfield. Also $400 holding fee, and after discussing it with my husband we have decided that I have worked too hard to give up an opportunity. I am paying the fee. If I get into the school I want to get into, I will forfeit my fee. The chance of not getting in somewhere else is not one I am willing to take.
Clarke is my first choice, but if I get in to PCC I will take it and withdraw my other apps. The downside of PCC/OHSU is that I will have to take a foreign language or ASL. For all the other schools I have completed all the Bachelor transfer req's after this term.
Clackamas deadline was yesterday, my understanding is they don't even do interviews until July - so those of you who are hoping for a letter from them this week I wouldn't count on it. I have been going there for two years and there isn't a whole lot that they do very quickly..
Good Luck Everyone! See you at the essay!:yeah:
