I unfortunately won't be taking any classes this summer, Fin Aid didn't want to fund me for so few credits. So I'm free all summer...arg.

I can get together any time as long as it's child-friendly surroundings. If not I can do evenings, particularly weekend evenings. :-)

Dharma-it is actually better that I take Stats by itself if I can, I struggle terribly in math so it's in my best interest to take it in the summer. But thanks for the suggestion! Since I just took 111c I would rather finish up the Math while it's fresh in my head...

Ugh! You're right I think about the foreign language..need to revisit OCNE website now...I just don't know when I'm gonna do more foreign language! I took 150 and 151 this year, which is 101-103, so one year. NOT 200 level...darn it.

I am taking micro this fall..I'm afraid! lol..Taking Stats this summer... We just need to plan not to have any social life and hardly any time with our families for a few years...that's the schedule I'm counting on ;-) J/K...kinda..I hope!

I talked to the Nursing Advisors, and the tentative schedule is as such: first year 12-15 credits per term. Lecture Monday and Tuesday 8 am - 3 pm. Wednesday off, Thursday and Friday for clinicals. Most run 6am-3pm, there are some swing shift and weekend options but they won't have details for some time. We have a list we can put preferences on but there are no guarantees for shifts and days. These times don't allow for study time, of course. I plan to use wednesday and several hours after lecture/lab days for this (and any other free minute I'm sure lol!) 2nd year, 9 credits per term, no idea on the schedule. But they said that this is what they have had in years past and it should be the same coming fall. I don't know about the cost per credit hour as I am on Financial aid. And we usually do lecture one day and lab the other so not all 100 of us are in a classroom lol. I think that's all I remember..I am hoping for the swing or weekend shifts since I have to put my son in daycare, most daycares won't take kids earlier than 7 am, and his dad is at work at 5 am. If I worked swing I could have a neighbor watch him for the couple hours from when I leave until his dad gets home without too much trouble.. Does anyone else have kids? How are you dealing with this?

Yes, thanks for correcting my mistake. I thought it was two years but its only two terms-sorry everyone! But we do need the upper-division electives. I plan to take mine in the second year of the program and/or during the bachelor's portion. I believe we can take those courses during the third (or 3rd and 4th) year(s). Man, I was excited to realize my mistake about the foreign language lol! Maybe that's for a Master's or something..I don't know where I got two years..oops! Does anyone know when we can go talk to an OHSU advisor about our scheduling, aside from the transcript eval? I would like tot alk with them about mapping for the Master's program. I would really like to get that far as a Family Practitioner as my ultimate goal, so I would like to be on track and not waste expensive credits :-)

LOL...Actually I went to PCC today and found out I don't need to take 227 since I took 121 and 122 @ 4 cr each so I'm good. I also thought I needed more Foreign Language but apparently I'm done. I knew this all a long time ago but totally spaced it in the craziness of getting accepted! And here's some great news! The first year we will be taking anywhere from 12-16 credits each term, the second year it's only 9 credits each term. HOWEVER-9 credits in the Nursing Program is considered Full-time according to Financial aid-and we will be funded as such! So all that panic for nothing lol! I was just worried about not getting my loans to pay for daycare so all is well in my world now :-) Did anyone else know that, was I the only one that didn't? :-) Now that I'm done freaking out for nothing..I will be taking Stats this summer, anyone else? And when do we want to plan this BBQ? I think its a great idea to celebrate our acceptance as well as break the ice!

Sorry, I meant Writing 224, it was late and I was studying for my 111 final :-) So I wanted to let you all know that I spoke to the financial aid coordinator for the Nursing Program and that information was false. That would only apply if you filed a time frame extension, which I will have to do in 2011-2012. But if you have enough credits you will be just fine, they will pay your gen ed requirements :-) So Stats and Writing this summer it is! Dang, I was looking forward to taking a term off...oh well. :-)

I'm excited to get this stuff going! Hey, is anyone taking classes this summer, or has anyone NOT taken Stats and Wri 227? I also need another year of Spanish (all of these for the bachelor's). I talked to Jan in the Nursing office today about my Financial Aid and she was saying that Financial Aid won't pay for these classes while I'm in the program, only Nursing courses for PCC's program. I do need to file for an extension soon since I have taken all my pre-req's at PCC and I wonder if this is why? I surely can't be the only one in this situation...it seems that they are a little disorganized at the office :-) It's to be expected but I'm a little worried about the information relay. Anyone else in this situation or know what's up? If I end up taking Wri and Stats this summer anyone else taking them as well?

I'm totally down! I don't really play sports but I love to BBQ and socialize! And I would be interested in trying to play, but you guys have to promise not to laugh! I can bring some food for sure, my boyfriend works for Reser's so I can get all the potato salad and salsa I can stomach lol. I am also interested in doing some A&P review over the summer, maybe do some study groups? I took it awhile ago and need to be refreshed and ready! Anyone else? I am SOOOOO EXCITED! Kind of off topic, but does anyone know any good, affordable daycares that are close to campus besides the one on campus? I am looking for one for my 2 year old. :-P

I wonder about being able to get a job with an associates though...anyone know how that works? I am interested in both options @OHSU, I'm just worried about not having a job bc I don't have my Bachelor's.

I'm possibly interested in carpooling, I live in Beaverton and can drive. I have a big minivan, though I will be dropping my son off at daycare in the morning. Anyone else have young children and starting nursing school? My son is 2 :-)
