  1. Thanks you guys.....any general info on how good the prescription plans are.....? Do they even have prescription plans??
  2. I will be applying to schools next year in the Portland area and was wondering if it is required to have health insurance? If so, do the schools provide it? Is it expensive? (Does it come out of your financial aid?) Can anyone shed some light? Thanks so much!
  3. Hey there, I know this might be a wide open question, with many answers from different people. But, how many hours per WEEK of Homework is there in 1st year Nursing School? Thanks!
  4. Thanks so much dharmawalk. It is nice to know there is a little wiggle room. I have taken MICRO. This info was really helpful. Thanks again!
  5. I have been asking around about PCC nursing school schedule. The official word is "8am- 5pm M-F". Does anyone know if this is absolutely solid, or if there are days that you get out early? If so does it fluctuate from term to term? I will be applying and wondering how I could weave my job into the schedule....Thanks !
  6. I, too, am starting over at 42! I just finished my first BIO class and got an 'A'. I feel like it has given me the confidence to go on. It is scary going back at first....but less so when you prove to yourself you CAN do it. As far as the age thing goes, you have to get over it, because you can't change how old you are. I think that when you are an "adult learner" you really appreciate what you are learning. Afterall, we are studying about this miraculous thing called 'life' in our A&P classes. It is an amazing journey to reconnect with education at a later point in life. The life experience and age that you carry into the nursing profession will be a big asset. If I was in a hospital bed, I would appreciate someone with a little grey in their hair, some life experience, and a lot of enthusiam for what they are doing because they chose to be there by my side at that mature point in their life.
  7. Hello All! Is Lower Columbia College the only LPN to RN program in the area? I know this thread is specifically about online, but does anyone know any other LPN to RN programs?? Are they called "bridge" programs??
  8. Just starting to go back to school at the age of 41 here! It is helpful to know there are others out their freaking out. I fear the RAMEN NOODLE/Financial crunch ahead of me, also. Here we go........!
  9. Intro to Bio for Health Professionals....5 credits. The very first class in a "one at a time" schedule. It should take me a year and a half for pre-reqs. I work full time. Going back to school at the age of (yikes) 41! Single guy. No family. Just a cat. Should do well. Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step! Hats off to all you full time students
