This is something I was wondering about. I start taking my pre-reqs in Jan. I have a fulltime management job and hope to keep working for at least the first semester. I have a MAT 110, PSY 201, ENG 101 and BIO 110 to take before I enter the NUR program in fall 09. All my pre-reqs I can do online except for the BIO so, I have managed to get one day a week off to take that class (YEAH FOR ME!!), but I wondered if I could complete CNA certificate in the Summer, so that in the Fall when I have to quit working, I could have that as an option to work on weekends and nights. Here, SC, CNAs make like $7/hr from what I hear, but some $ is better than no money. I am going to also check in the paper because I remember seeing an ad for a 6 or 8 week course for CNA. You pay like $350 to take it I think. Check out my other post: 33 and starting over.

So Hello! If anyone bothers to read this... I am 32 (well 33 in Feb 09) and I am starting school Jan 12th. I have some pre-req courses to take before I can enter the Nursing program in the fall. Can I tell you how scary the COMPASS Algebra looks after not being in school for 15 years. YIKES! At any rate, I am extremely excited about getting started with my pre-reqs in Jan and look forward to being an RN. I have three younger sisters that are all nurses. MSN, BSN and ADN. ADN is working on her BSN. So here I go tagging along. Aren't older sisters supposed to lead. I am planning to keep working for the first two semesters. I am an area manager for Coca Cola. I am hoping to complete my MATH 110, PSY 201 and ENG 101 online and just have my BIO 110 to take at the school. Does anyone out there have any advice? Specifically anyone with a situation similar to mine... 33 leaving a corporate management career to go into nursing. ANY and ALL advice welcome. BE honest, but positive - ya know it's scary enough already! PS- I'm in Florence, SC. Please let me know if you are from the same area. I am going to be going to FDTC.
