I'm still hear waiting to find out. It won't be at least the end of the month until I'll get my letter. I'm not sure at all if I'll get in or not. I wish I can know sooner so I can start preparing. Anyone else waiting?

Congratulations Sunshineclarity! I got my letter and they said my ranking among other applicants was not competive enough to be selected for this class. I have completed all my classes except for AP2 and Micro. I bet that had alot to do with it. Maybe I'll get called for a seat if everyone does not claim their spot. I haven't given up. It's still in God's hands. Good luck to you Sunshine!

I thought I would give you guys the update. I got my letter today and I'm on the alternate list... #8 of 15. So there is still a chance of getting in. I better get my immunizations together just in case. Are there many people here who go into the program off the alternate list?

Hi Everyone:

I just got my acceptance letter yesterday; however, at the school I go to, there doesn't seem to be such strict standards as most. As long as your GPA is 2.5 and you have taken Anatomy and Developmental Psych, there is no waiting list and since I have completed both of those requirements, I was pretty sure that I would be starting in January so I have already started on my list of things to do and am signed up for a CPR class as well as getting my second Hep B shot next week. (I have already gotten the rest of the immunizations/titers done.)

At this point, I just have to get a BCI done and then I should be all set.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you all get those acceptance letters!

The LPN program starts in Jan 2004 and it is now Dec 14th. I heard the letters will start to be sent out Dec 15th. Talk about not much time. They really are cutting this close. I already have CPR from work where I am a CNA. I got the hep series too for work. If I only know where the rest of my immunization records are. Wish me luck any day now pleaseeeeee. Nancy

You applied to a state school like Henry Abbott Tech or Kaynor?(Something along those lines) I was going to apply to Kaynor, but I heard they pick like 40 students out of 400 applicants. If you don't get into that school you can always try New England Tech. Its first come, first serve pretty much..If you pass the entrance test and interview your in. The only thing is it costs $18,000 because its a private school compared to the $4000 it cost for a state run school. I picked the more expensive route, because I made it in first try. No waiting till the end of the year to see if I would be a chosen one. I've met a few people who tried three times to get into Kaynor and was turned down over other applicants..They do follow a quota on male versus females and minority verson majority.

Anyways if you don't get into this school your waiting on, you can go to http://www.newenglandtech.org They have classes forming in March for the New Britain, Hamden, and Shelton campuses.

Hey there my name is Nicky and I also applied to the state run nursing program at A.I. Prince. Should be getting a letter today can't wait. If I don't get in there I can always go to New England Tech. So either way I will be a LPN by 2005 Yeah!!!!!!!

I am still waiting too for news for January. We were supposed to know by the end of November or early December, but it got post-poned. The letters are supposed to be mailed this week. I am trying to not stress out too much especially since I have already registered for some more classes to take at the school I am currently attending just in case. I will let you all know what happens. I believe that whatever happens is for a reason so if I don't get in this semester, there is a reason why I should be waiting another semester. I sure hope there isn't a reason though!

I just called the school. It turns out that it was my fault that I didn't get any notice. I somehow forgot to notify them of our change of address when we moved. Anyways, I did not get in. I am still taking Chemistry and Sociology this semester. While they are my only remaining pre-reqs, they had so many applicants that they only took people who were completely finished and the lowest gpa they accepted was 3.9. The facts that I had 2 classes still in progress and only have a 3.7 cut me out of it pretty quick. They are sending a re-application for next semester and in January I will finish up the other classes I need for the other schools in the area to apply to them for January '05. At least the waiting is over. Like I said I believe there is a reason for this and that I will get in when I am meant to get in. Congrats to all of you who did get good news. I'll be there too as soon as I can.

i finally got mine, though it wasn't great news since i didn't get in. i was not expecting to get in yet, but still, you hope. i am all done with my pre-req's and i'm told by the nursing counselor that i should start next fall. :D sooooooooo next semester i am taking pharm and med. calculations, just to help me once i'm in.

so i will continue to wait!!

 heather

I just found out friday that I am number 11 on the waiting list for this upcoming spring but I am guaranteed admission for next fall. Theres no way 11 students will have misfortunes for me to start this Feb. so the attitude is, there must be a reason to wait six excrutiating, down and dirty broke, additional months. I also applied to a local private school and will be finding out my admission status today, yikes. For those who just got accepted to spring good luck!

Not for the spring, but I just sent in my application for fall and I'm already anxious about it! Going to be a LONG wait........ :(
