Anyone starting Regis College, MA this fall 2011

Published

Hello!

I am starting the Accelerated Direct Entry Masters program at Regis College this fall 2011! I would love to meet anyone starting the same program. Also any advice on preparing for graduate nursing school would be greatly appreciated! I am super excited, a bit scared and all things in between! :)

Hi mbcali!

I really am enjoying Regis and the nursing program. It's A LOT of work, but it's so great to finally know that this is where you're supposed to be and this is what you're supposed to be doing. I've learned soooo much.

Clinicals are def the best part! I love them. We don't have clinicals this semester or this summer (that's just the part I am at in the program) and I miss them haha! I have not had any problems getting clinical placements. For the first year they place you themselves, so that's not a problem and they really do try their hardest to place you as close to your home as possible, which I definitely really appreciated since I live out in the boonies. Then in the fall we did a preceptorship and we were encouraged to find our own preceptorship (one-on-one with an RN), but if we couldn't they helped you out. Everyone had a placement of course, some people it took a little longer than others to get placed, but they got to everyone! I was lucky and had a connection, so I didn't have any trouble getting the preceptorship. I'll be starting my NP clinicals in the fall and we're encouraged to again find our own preceptorships, so we'll see how that goes as well.

I find faculty to be very supportive (sure you have the occasional teacher who isn't as great as some others, but for the most part everyone is very positive and wants to see you succeed). Faculty are ALWAYS willing to meet with you outside of class especially since class is sometimes head spinning with all the material they're cramming into you and expect you to learn outside on your own, so that I also was really appreciative.

I'm always happy to talk to prospective or incoming students, so feel free to ask whatever whenever :)

Hi all,

I was accepted in early January to the Accelerated BSN/MSN progam at Regis. I'm very excited to start and it's great to see all of the activity here from future classmates! I can't wait to meet everyone and to finally get started on achieving this goal!

I'm also very thankful for the information you provided, Jennifer. It's always good to hear about the program from a current student.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello! See you all soon and congrats to everyone!

Hi all - I'm a late apply-er but hoping to get my acceptance letter soon! Just out of curiosity when did all of you apply?

Thanks! And will hopefully be meeting you all this fall!

I applied back in December, received a waitlist type letter mid Jan and got my acceptance last Saturday.

Best of luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well congrats! what a roller coaster! I'm a little confused how/why they have open admissions still for the fall if they were waitlisting people back in January. I would think they would have plenty of people to fill those spots. Well, hopefully there are places still open... very much looking forward to moving to Boston!

Thanks for you info!
