  1. Hey abbie555 -- You can def improve your odds by staying in touch with the admissions office, be it with updated GRE scores, test scores in prereqs you may still be taking, updated volunteer opportunities etc...what's great about Regis is that it is one of very few schools that actually encourage prospective students to remain in contact with them after being placed on the wait list. The admissions office is incredibly helpful, and can answer any question who may have about the wait list or how you can improve your application. So don't hesitate to contact them! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
  2. First of all, congrats on your acceptance! And welcome to our little group here! I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. I didn't get the email either and wasn't given much of an option for classes -- but stay in touch with **** in admissions and I'm sure she will take care of you if anything opens up in Group 1. If not, you'll be in Group 2 for just the first semester, which includes a break for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've attached the Group breakdown below. Look forward to meeting you! :) Megan CURRICULUM FOR FALL 2011 GM'S.pdf
  3. Shyarra, Thank you so much for the heads up! Any information like that is extremely helpful, really appreciate it! I have been in contact with a few realtors and have some family friends in the area that are helping me look for places as well, hopefully securing a place by late May. I'm just hoping for my lease to start in early August. I want to be out there for a few weeks before classes start to get all situated and acclimated to the area, and maybe be a tourist for little bit :) Jennifer -- About PDA's, are there students who use their phones for PDA's and just shut off the phone mode when at clinicals? Or is this something that is addressed by the hospital we are placed at?
  4. My email was accidently put in incorrectly. Those things happen, and I was impressed with how they handled it though. There was one spot left for me, in group 1D...I would have chosen that group anyway, so I'm excited! Thanks for posting about receiving an email, yay for allnurses!! mbcali, I'll probably be moving out there the first part August, depends on what I can find. Not quite sure about where, but Newton is my top choice! Might look at some places closer to Boston, like Brookline, but not quite sure yet. I'm from both southern and northern, I lived in southern for 4 years when I was in high school, then when I went off to college in Oregon my family moved to the Sacramento area, and have been there for the past 6 years. I'm in Oregon though right now finishing up my last few pre-reqs which are done in June. I think you said you were from northern right? Would be fun to meet up in June or July because I will be back down there until I leave for Boston....after all were both in the same group too! :) We can exchange contact info when the time gets closer, but that would be fun!
  5. Shyarra, I haven't received anything, via email, from my personal email or my Regis email account. Was it a recent email, was it through your Regis account? Maybe I should contact the woman who takes care of all the admitted students? I hope I get something soon
  6. Hey fellow Californian! I am bringing my car, but hope to not use it too much cause I'm trying to move into a place that is close to the different public transportation lines. Boston is known for its great public transportation, so maybe you won't need a car, depends on how often you think you're going to use it. I haven't lived out in Boston in quite sometime so I'm not even sure how much I would use it, all depends on where I live of course, but I'm going to bring mine just to have out there. Regis has a bus that goes to and from campus from Riverside Station (green line subway), which is a little south of Newton. According the the schedule on the Regis website, it's just a 15 minute drive. Maybe people park their cars at the station and then take the Regis bus to campus? When are you planning on moving?
  7. Yes, they sent me a letter. Although my GRE scores weren't stellar, I did score above the requirement of 1000+ Remember they look at the whole application...so there are other factors that come into play besides the GRE score. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  8. Hey Simlyn12, I was accepted from the waitlist on March 12th. I would encourage you to stay in touch with them! I know the deadline for regular decision acceptance deposits was a few days ago, so maybe there will be a few more spots opening up here soon! Good luck to you! Keep us posted!
  9. Thank you sooo much Jennifer. I have a Mac computer and an iPhone so I think looking into the Ipod touch makes the most sense for me! Great info!!
  10. Hey Jennifer! Another quick question. Are you at liberty to share the suggested PDA that might be recommended by Regis? I have been researching PDA's online, and what a selection! Not quite sure where to start. Are there certain applications that you have found most helpful? Since they seem to be a bit expensive, I'm trying to get a jump start.
  11. Jennifer, Such great information and advice! You've been a wonderful help to all of us on this thread! Thank you so much!
  12. Bummed I couldn't make it to the lunch today...I'm sure it was fun, I wish I could have been there! Is there anything I missed? Jennifer, from years past, do you know what time of the month orientation is in August? If you were to look back, is there anything you would have done differently to prepare? Or is there anything you are happy that you did before the program started? Or wish you would've known prior to classes beginning or even in the first few months of the program? Thanks in advance!
  13. I applied back in December, received a waitlist type letter mid Jan and got my acceptance last Saturday. Best of luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  14. I'm currently in Northern California. Where are you from? Who knows, we might be neighbors haha :) It would be fun to meet up! I wish I could make it to the lunch, but I will be there in spirit! PM me and we can exchange info!
  15. I got my letter today.....ACCEPTED!!!!!!! I'm soooooo thrilled! From California to Boston!! Can't wait to meet all of you!
