Anyone scared to schedule NCLEX?

I just received my ATT today and I'm doing Suzanne's 4 program but I'm so afraid to schedule the NCLEX and fail it; I graduated in May and I don't want to wait too long to take it; I've been studying for a while but I don't feel ready and can't seem to find the courage to schedule the exam. I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt this way or are feeling this way right now and what did you or are doing to overcome it. I would appreciate your input. Thank you,

I was very nervous when I scheduled my NCLEX. I actually started to feel my heart race and my stomach was churning. I also graduated in May and I just took my NCLEX pn this morning. My test shut off at 85, which is the minimum for the pn exam. Either I did really bad or I passed.

I am glad I waited the four weeks to take the test. I studied "almost" everyday. I did about 100 questions each time or more and I used the Saunders for the majority. The scheduling is nerve racking, but needs to be done. Just take a deep breath and say "I can do this", then hit that confirm button! The very best of luck to you!

You're not alone. I graduated in May, received my ATT today, went online to read the additional info and took me about an hour to actually schedule a date/time for the exam. NOW my stomach is churning. I'm a nervous wreck. I can just imagine how I'll be when the test date gets closer and closer. I'm using saunders and the NCSBN Review Center online.

I also graduated in May. I took my test last Thursday and found out Saturday that I passed!!! I simply wanted to get the whole thing behind me and be able to go to work. I had 85 questions that took 2 hours to complete. The sick feeling will not go away from the time you get the ATT until you actually see "PASS" on the results page!!! BUT oh what a WONDERFUL FEELING when you realize that your DREAM has come TRUE!!! I am still excited about it!!! I applied for my first NURSE position this afternoon. It was so neat to write LVN on that application. SO~~~ just schedule the test and know that you are SMART and you WILL do this!!!

Best of LUCK to you!!! Tammy.

I was so sick that I was shaking when I went online. No joke...but I actually looked at my Chinese horoscope and numerology when scheduling mine:lol2:

I scheduled mine 2 weeks after I graduated in May because I knew if I didn't bite the bullet it would just get harder. So I thought that 6 weeks would be a good time and that is what I did...lucky too because not many slots were available with good times. It is never going to feel like the right time but sometimes it is better to know when the big day will be so that you can study accordingly...but the again I am a planner!

I was terribly scared to sked my NCLEX. I registered with Pearson last June 18, 2005. I first sked my exam last October 2005. Then I got scared and cancelled it. I took Kaplan course. Bought Saunders. Dragged the remaining months of indecision. I would have moved it for another 2 weeks or so, which means I'd waste my $200. Glad my husband, who is my motivator didn't allow me. Then finally decided to take it last June 16, 2006. I am so happy to pass it the first time. After all the procrastination I did, I am relieved that it is over. Happy to plan for the future.

To anyone who is going to take it, only you can tell if you are ready for it. Or better yet, make up your mind and decide to take it. Take it while it is still fresh especially those who are newly grads. Don't do what I did. I wasted alot of time. Glad that my time wasting is over.

Keep us posted. God bless.

Thanks for all the encouraging postings :-) I finally went to the website yesterday to schedule my NCLEX and the earliest date available at my testing center was June 29 and after that the next available date was Aug 7; since June 29 would give me only a day to study I decided to go with August and I'll schedule it today for sure. I can't believe it's finally here and I'm eligible to take the NCLEX, I'm so scared!!!

When I scheduled my exam I was seriously freaking out! My heart was racing, I was in panic mode!!! I test tomorrow and am still freaking out! I feel like I don't know anything. One NCLEX-RN book I have I do OK on (Saunder's) and the other two (Mosby's and Lippencott's) I get most of the questions correct, so I don't even know what to do! I had better get my stuff out and begin reviewing! Good Luck to us all!!!!!!!

I just took a test from Mosby's Study Guide for the NCLEX RN exam and only scored in the 60;s. I'm due to take this test in 2 weeks. I really don't feel ready. I was going to change my date but will I ever really feel ready? I don't remember going through this for my PN boards. I took the first available date and it wasn't even until 3 months after graduation and I had way more confidence then (also passed with the minimum questions).

I don't get it, ugh. I graduated with honors, scored well on all exams but just am scared to take this NCLEX. I hate this feeling.

For me, the scheduling was worse than the test.:p

I had to wait so long for my ATT that by the time I got it, my choice was to wait 'till mid July, or schedule for a day and a half later! With the help of my teenage son gently prodding, "Just click the mouse Mom...hurry up, someone else is going to get that appointment", I took the early date... It went fine.

I had to wait a little over a month to get my ATT and when I went to schedule my test, I thought I was going to be sick. It wasn't until I actually had the date set that it truly hit me that I was really going to have to take this test. I barely slept at all the day I scheduled it, but am feeling a little better now. It feels good to know when I'm taking it, even though I am not even close to feeling ready for it. I had the option of choosing 7/5 but didn't feel like I would be quite prepared at that point to take it so I decided to wait a little while longer. Good luck studying - I'm sure we'll all do GREAT!!!
